Hi I'm Cindy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mom, a wife, a daughter, registered nurse, a lover of music and enjoy cooking, reading and having friends over. I also enjoy boating, camping, hiking, and horseback riding. I grew up in Halstead, Kansas and we moved to Arizona when I was 13 yrs old. My uncle promised to give me a horse when we moved to Arizona, which was so exciting for me! He gave me a Morgan, her name was Stormy. I rode her every day after school and we became inseparable. I started riding in gymkhana's and was a member of a riding club. These activities helped my transition to Arizona. I attended Mesa Junior High and Mesa High School. Upon graduation I attended Mesa Community College, and then transferred to Arizona State University and began my nursing program. I graduated and started working for Banner Health, and still work for the same corporation today, it has been 35 years! I waited till I was 36 yrs old to find the love of my life, and we were married, and have 2 beautiful and talented girls.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in Mesa Arizona, and had many friends that were Mormon, or LDS. I attended church activities with them during my high school years. While I was in college I had the opportunity to work at Circle K Ranch, in Delores Colorado, which was owned by an LDS family. Every sunday, we had an LDS service which I attended. I felt so very warm and good when I attended. I knew that there was something special in the services. When I returned to Arizona I investigated many different religions, but felt drawn to the LDS missionaries. After careful thought and prayer, I made the decision to be baptized, Some of my friends were very upset and no longer wanted to associate with me. My family was very supportive. I knew that Jesus Christ's church had been restored in it's fullness and that Joseph Smith was an instrument in God's hands to bring this truth to the world today. I am grateful for this knowledge. It has brought so much peace and happiness to my life. In addition, I was able to find a husband that is kind, thoughtful and a great father and husband. Life is a great adventure and I look forward to each new day!

How I live my faith

I have enjoyed serving with many different age groups, although my favorite time was when I was the "song lady" for the youth. It was such a joy to teach the children ages 3-12 yrs songs about Jesus. Their faces would light up as they would learn the words and the tune. They would have their favorites, but would also like to learn new songs. Each year we would perform a program where we would sing all the songs that we had learned from the year. They were so proud...but...I was the proudest song lady ever!
