Hi I'm Charlotte

I'm from a family of 6, 5 of whom are adopted. I'm a runner. I'm a dessert caterer. I love to volunteer. And I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I come from a family of six children, 5 of whom were adopted. When I was 19 years old, I entered a pageant and won. I won scholarship money, and the chance to become more involved with my community. I also had the opportunity to find an outlet for my passion of being an advocate and educator on adoption. Through this experience I was able to work closely with the adoption and foster care community. To this day I continue with my advocacy for both institutions. Another passion of mine is cooking, and I had the chance to attend school for culinary arts, where my love of food could bloom. Now I run my own private dessert catering business from my home. Recently I decided I was going to start running half marathons, and enjoyed the thrill and challenge of training immensely. I am a volunteer for a youth running program, a member of a civil service club, and married to my best friend.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church, but that is not the reason I am a Mormon. I am a Mormon because I know this church to be true. I believe the gospel wholeheartedly, and have personally been the recipient of many of the blessings promised by the Lord when I have done as He has asked. I spent about a year away from the church, and it was one of the most unhappy times I can remember. I missed having the Holy Ghost to guide and comfort me, and was only too glad to return to living the gospel standards. I have never felt more whole, more complete, than when I am doing the things the Lord asks. This church is about family, about bettering oneself, and about helping us find the easiest way back to our Savior. To believe in something this strongly is a powerful testament to myself of the truthfulness of the gospel. Having the Bible as well as the Book of Mormon as a guide in my life is one the greatest gifts and blessings I have ever received. I have read them, and know they are both true.

How I live my faith

I have the very unique privilege to teach the three year-old Sunday school class at church. Half of the time I feel like I learn more from teaching these little ones than I did from my adult Sunday school class. I love the basics of the gospel, they are so simple and easy to understand, and they help reaffirm my testimony on a weekly basis. I love to visit teach! I love the opportunity I have to visit with a few of my sisters once a month, and get to know them on a more personal level. I love serving them, talking with them, and laughing with them.
