Hi I'm Ray Osterberg

I retired from the US Air Force. I worked at and retired from Eastern Washington University. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Ater graduating from Moscow High School I attended the University of Idaho for one year and then joined the Air Force. My first assignment after career schooling was in Korea. Even though the war was technically over we lived in combat conditions. I next went to Montana. There I decided to make the Air Force a career, met my wife to be while on leave, married and had two children before going to Oregon. My wife was a Mormon and after six years of marriage I agreed to listen to the missionaries and joined the Church. Next to marrying my wife, joining the Church is the greatest thing I have done in my life. We served in the Air Force and the Church in Germany, Texas, Japan, and California before retiring and moving to where we now live. I worked for a university for 18 years and earned three degrees before I retire again.

Why I am a Mormon

Soon after taking the missionary discussions I felt the Spirit and asked to be baptized. It has changed my life to one of having a desire to serve others and improve myself. Everywhere we have lived the opportunity to serve in leadership positions have been offered to me which have helped me grow spiritually.

How I live my faith

My opportunities to serve have given me a wide range of responsibilities and given me experience. I have served in many positions of leadership, served in the Boy Scouts and especially given me the opportunity to research my ancestors. Doing family history has become the favorite challenge in my retirement years.
