Hi I'm Matt

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a senior in college studying finance, I have been married since 2009 and am a sports enthusiast. Growing up I developed a love for basketball and even had the opportunity to play a year of college basketball. I currently, I am staying active by reliving my glory days as a weekend warrior, playing intramural football and basketball. Between balancing my classes, work, and going on dates with my wife, I have also recently tried to pick up golf. I am currently a four handicap---per hole!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church. Because both of my parents converted from Catholicism and through athletics I had a lot of friends who weren't members of the Church, I have been lucky to have the opportunity to develop my own testimony of the Church. I am a Mormon because throughout my youth I felt the spirit of the Lord in profound ways as I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon, as I learned about the Prophet Joseph Smith and have listened to the counsel of the modern-day prophets. It is a difficult world out there, especially for teenagers! I have found that I have been able to find so much happiness when I am living my life according to the teachings of the Savior. It is no coincidence that I have been able to avoid a lot of the common mistakes and painful experiences a lot of my friends have fallen into because I have the Gospel. Ultimately, I am a Mormon not because my parents raised me in the Church, but because I have prayed for myself to know whether it is true or not, and I have felt the spirit surround me with its calming influence, testifying to me that it really is true. What an amazing thing! I continue to follow the Savior's gospel because through it I have been able to find peace and happiness in my life, forgiveness for my mistakes, and achieve a happy marriage.

How I live my faith

One day at a time, with faith and trust in the Lord and His promises.
