Hi I'm Christy

I enjoy being outside experiencing Heavenly Father's creations. I'm a single mom of 6 children who are my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I come from a large happy family of seven girls and two brothers. I am the 4th oldest sister. My family is very musical and we sing together every time we get a chance. Our little brother died when he was only six. He had spina bifida, a birth defect causing him many physical challenges and pain. He loved leading the music as we sang. I am thankful for the knowledge that we will be together again in the next life and he will have a perfect body, as will all of us. We will be able to continue learning and growing, but most importantly, we will be together! I have a family of my own now with six children. We love watching movies, singing, playing catch, going to ballgames, concerts and swim meets, eating icecream cones and making popcorn and spending time with all the cousins. We love family night! We often have serious talks about life and the pains of living with the divorce. We have grown closer and rely on eachother more because of it. We are so blessed to have a built-in network of friends in our ward and I know that anywhere I live, I would have that same loving support. It's a good feeling.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a wonderful Mormon family. We lived in South Lake Tahoe where there were few members of the Church. It was easy to see that our way of living was different than most of the people I knew. We spoke kind words, didn't smoke or drink, went to church every Sunday, had family prayer and scripture study daily. We were careful to wear our shorts and skirts down to the knee and had sleeves on our shirts. I wasn't ever jealous that my friends could wear whatever they wanted and play on Sunday because I knew that being a Mormon meant living the way the scriptures and the Prophets taught us to live. I didn't have to worry about my parents getting drunk or going to the casinos or smoking. I was glad to learn about Jesus and Heavenly Father. I felt the Holy Spirit in my soul from a very early age. I felt safe. I saw the blessings first hand of living the Gospel and I will always strive to live the best way I know how and teach my children the same. Its true that growing up in the Church gave me a strong foundation of knowledge of the scriptures and the Gospel. I learned how the Holy Ghost feels when I am receiving inspiration from Heaven. When the Spirit touches my heart and mind with such peaceful clarity, warmth and love, I know without a doubt that my prayers are being heard and answered. I have recieved powerful witnesses from the Holy Ghost throughout my life that The Book of Mormon is true, that the Savior visited the people in the Americas after his resurrection, and that its message is meant for us today. Jesus Christ made it possible for us to repent and change and forgive. I know that Joseph Smith saw God the Father and Jesus Christ and was shown where and how to find and translate this ancient record. I know that the Priesthood Power and Authority spoken of in the Old and New Testaments was restored to the Earth through Joseph Smith to bless our lives today. This power is essential for salvation and the sealing together of families even after death.

How I live my faith

A song I can still hear my mother sing is, "Living the Gospel is Fun!" She is right! Living the Gospel IS Fun!! Its not always easy.. life is hard. But, the blessings that come from being a part of a world wide organization with service and love and truth and trust at the very core makes life fun and worth it! On a higher note, holding membership in this true church with Jesus Christ at the head and a living Prophet and 12 Apostles to counsel and direct us, is a gift to protect and treasure. I know that whatever problems I encounter in my life, I can rely on the Savior's atonement, the scriptures, the words of the Prophets, and personal revelation to get me through.
