Hi I'm Howard

I was born and grew up in Florida, and went to school in Tennessee. I have been in music all my life. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have been involved in music all my life. I played professionally in the jazz field on bass violin and electric bass in both big bands and small combos. I also sing and conduct shows, choral groups and church choirs. I was vice-president of marketing and sales for a major musical instrument company until I retired. Since then my wife and have been very active in Church work and teaching various classes. We have served a Church Service mission of 18 months in the Welfare Department, now we enjoy our family and friends and go camping in our travel trailer as we have time.

Why I am a Mormon

As a young boy, I was always concerned why what various ministers said and what I read in the Bible was at odds. I met the LDS Missionaries at the age of 14 and they had answers that made sense. I read the Book of Mormon and never looked back, I was baptized when I was 15. I know that Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son in the Sacred Grove and that through him the Fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was restored to the earth and that by the power of God the Book of Mormon was translated and is the Word of God to mankind in our day. I have an abiding peace of mind and comfort in this knowledge so that I need not fear.

How I live my faith

I teach priesthood lessons, temple preparation classes, serve as Ward Music Chairman, do home teaching with my companion every month, serve as a temple worker and sing in our Stake choir. I also try to help as a substitute teacher when ever I can. I love the Gospel and all that it contains, it make me feel good about my life now and the future.
