Hi I'm Eric

I grew up in a small town in southeastern Washington. I love to play sports and be outside. I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Football, basketball, downhill skiing, and swimming are some of my favorite sports. I recently picked up disc golf and for all those who have never done it they need to put it on their bucket list. Haha, I was recently married and as part of my wedding gift from my wife she gave me frisbees to play disc golf with. Yes, I am married as of August 2011. I'm currently working on getting my degree at Brigham Young University-Idaho.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon for several reasons. The first reason is the happiness that I feel when I follow the teachings of Christ. I completely understand the guilt and remorse that comes from sin but I have also felt the effects that come from committing to and leaving behind sin. I am a Mormon because there is a high commitment level of following Christ. The teachings do not permit me to do the things that make me feel bad. However, the teachings do send me down a path that if I follow I will find far greater peace than I could have ever imagined. I'm a Mormon because it teaches that God continues to speak to his prophets today. God continues to give guidance because he loves us. God has taught his prophets in the past as well as the present that families can be together forever. I know this is true and cannot wait for God's continued promises and blessings.

How I live my faith

Living in such a small town it makes it easy for everybody to know everybody else's business. All of my friends knew I was a Mormon. All of my friends knew I was a Mormon and respected me for it. I would go to church for 3 hours every Sunday, abstain from drugs and alcohol, and maintain a clean mouth and clean appearance. I graduated high school having participated in a variety of clubs and sports. After a semester of college I went on a two year mission to North Carolina. There I met a lot of wonderful people and learned about southern hospitality. I came home and met my wife and we continue to follow Christ and try to better our lives. We serve in different ways in the church. Every month we go and visit families that are assigned to us so that we can make sure they are doing alright. In fact there are people that see us every month. It is great to know that we are being watched out for. My wife and I are young, still in school, and at times nervous. But we are also well prepared, so excited, and full of faith.
