Hi I'm Jaycee

I'm an artist, musician, student, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

After I come home from school each day, I try and find the time to sit down at the piano and get some practicing time in for the week. Being a student at high school and part time at our community college takes a toll out of my time, as well as my job as a piano teacher. It can be difficult to find times to practice and keep up with piano, but somehow I always find time for that. Same goes for reading my scriptures every day. Even if it's a really packed full day with no time in-between, I always strive to find time to read scriptures before I go to bed at night. That's what keeps me sane, along with a run every now and then when my schedule allows. I really enjoy cooking and learning tips from my personal Betty Crocker assistant and best friend, also known as my mother! She is very knowledgeable about food and cooking and loves to try new recipes with me! I'm so grateful to have a family sealed in the temple for all time and eternity, and I look forward to the day that I find someone to take me to the temple to be married and sealed to the same as my parents and older siblings are.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a mormon because i want to be. I am not a member of this church because any one has forced me into it. I have come to know for myself that this is the true church. I learned this while at Girls Camp. My friends and i were listening to a talk by one of the leaders. At the end of the lesson, i was pondering a prayer that had been in my heart for quite a while. I remembered that the sister had told us that we had the light of Christ in us. I looked straight ahead of me and i saw the pure and clear sunlight peering through a bush, and all of the sudden it came clear to me that this was the true restored church of Christ. I cannot explain in words exactly how i felt that day, but i will never forget.

How I live my faith

I wake up at 5:20 A.M. every morning to go to seminary for an hour. This is a bible/book of mormon study that i take for an hour each morning. My seminary teacher prepares great lessons guided by the spirit, which makes it a great way to start the day off right. On wednesdays i go to mutual (Sometimes called youth group by others) and participate in activities with other teenagers around my age. Through this i have made friends for life that i know i can trust, while having fun also. On Sunday mornings i get up at 7:30 to get ready for our church meetings. I look forward to renewing my baptisimal covenants when taking the sacrament, becasue i am indeed not a perfect person. I love listening to the lessons and talks prepared by teachers and members of our ward also. In the summer time, i go to girls camp. This is a great way to become close to nature, our Heavely Father and his Son. I love geting to spend time with other girls my age who are going through the same things as me. Every year i go, i earn a better understanding of myself and the plan that our Father has in store for us. I am also a part of my Mia Maid class in our ward. I serve as the second councelor, and go to BYC (bishop youth comitee) when our president cannot attend. At BYC we discuss the activites and concerns of the youth in our ward. We make plans to invite the less active, and we also discuss how to incorporate the temple into our activities each wednesday. I On sunday's after church, i come home and spend time with my family along with doing things that are pleasing to my Heavenly Father.
