Hi I'm Junene

I'm a Mormon. I joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as a teenager and it changed my entire life!

About Me

I was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was 15 years old by those "Clean-cut Mormon MIssionaries" we had seen walking the streets near our home in Hawaii! My parents and siblings were later baptized on the same evening and my has life changed significantly since that time! I became an elementary school teacher and taught school for a few years. I married a wonderful man and we are the parents of 5 children. After the children were older I went back to school and received a Master's Degree in Home Economics and taught on a part time basis for the Community Colleges in Arizona. My husband and I are "empty nesters" now and retired, but we still give many hours per week volunteering our time to the service of others! The Gospel of Jesus Christ fills our souls!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the Church because I knew in my heart that the doctrine and teachings taught were absolutely true. My heart was so touched by the Spirit and I was overwhelmed with joy and peace. I received answers to many questions that I had concerning life, and through the teachings of the Church I gained a better understanding of those questions, particularly regarding the Atonement of Jesus Christ and how it affects me individually. As the years have passed I have continued to feel that joy and peace in my life. I have a testimony of its truthfulness within my heart. I love going to Church and being activily engaged in serving in the Church. I receive great joy being with and serving my fellow man.

How I live my faith

I have been blessed with so many opportunities to develop as a person and gain confidence in myself by striving to live the teachings of the Church! The Church has provided me with opportunities to become a better person, daughter, wife, mother, teacher, leader, etc., by giving me different positions of responsibilities to grow and develop personally. I have been asked to be a teacher of the young people, teenagers, as well as adults. I have been able to increase my organizational skills, as well as skills in music and leadership. I have developed homemaking skills by attending classes focused on sewing, baking, cooking, quilting, as well as family relations and child development. My leadership skills increased as I served with the youth and women in the Church. I have gained confidence in my abilities to try new challenges in my life. I have also volunteered in the community by serving as a board member of several of my children's schools. I try my best to show my gratitude to the Lord for all of the blessings He has given me by serving Him and following His teachings and example.
