Hi I'm Emily

I was born and raised in Nebraska. I love nature, cooking, traveling, laughing, fishing and being active. I am a mormon.

About Me

It is and always has been very important to me to stay healthy. It is always exciting finding a new recipe and tweeking it a little to make it just perfect. Our family loves to travel and we have gone to many different and beautiful places; my favorites though have to be Hawaii and Alaska. When it comes to the wildlife and scenery, they couldn't be more polar opposite, but that is what we love about it. As a family we love to see the beauty that the world has to offer. In an odd way this really shows to me the love that our Lord has for us and I always feel warm and happy when there. Of course it is not just in foreign places that there is beauty, if you just look around you, wherever you may live, you can see the little miracles the our Heavenly father has put there to make our lives a bit happier and our days a bit brighter.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and grew up in a faithful family. Because of their faith and testimonies I have learned much and have been able to gain a sweet testimony of my own. I know that know matter what trials I go through in the future I will always be a faithful and worthy member of this wonderful church.

How I live my faith

Through my experiences so far in my life I have really gained a love for people and the beauty in the world around me. Service is a huge part of my life and any chance that I get I try to find ways to help those around me. Along with helping in my community and church in random and helpful ways, I am also enrolled in the Honors Society in my High School which really focuses on the community service and building of character in us youth. I absolutely love it and the people that we help there is a certain joy that one feels when helping the life of another and to me serving is the true key to pure happiness and joy

What do Mormons believe concerning the doctrine of grace?

Our Lord loves each and every one of us very much. He knows our talents, abilities, desires and thoughts. Grace is a very beautiful gift that can not be taken too lightly. The whole point of grace is not to do what we want knowing that He will forgive us for our sins in the end. Sure that is part of it but we need to do all that we can to follow and obey the commandments and live our lives right. If we do sin though, (which we all do on a daily basis, no one is perfect) we must repent with a true and deep regret as well as a desire to do better and improve ourselves. Like mentioned earlier, the Lord knows all of us individually and knows our abilities as well as limits. If we do everything in our power to obey and repent then that is when grace falls into place. He will forgive us as long as He knows we have done our absolute best. Show more Show less
