Hi I'm Monica Renda

I am a big sister, a college student, a missionary, and I am a Mormon!

About Me

Man, I am the worst at writing these things! I am the oldest of five children, the youngest being 4 years old. Even though they can be irritating sometimes I love them more than anything in the whole world! One of the things I pray for the most is the ability to be the best sister I can be. I am also a student at BYU, though I will soon be serving a full time mission! BYU is one of the happiest places on earth, except during finals week. I love being able to learn not only about my Savior and my God but about all the amazing things that he created, whether that be the earth itself or the bodies he has given us or the things that people have been inspired to write. This is life is about learning and gaining experience and I intend to do that the best I can! I will be double majoring in Anthropology and Human Development with a minor in International Development. I hope to travel the world and share the goodness of the gospel with everyone I can! I am a movie fanatic, a music junkie, and a food lover

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up a Mormon. But, until I turned twelve and was switched into Young Women's, I never really understood WHY I went to church. I just went because my parents did. Once I got into the YW program however my testimony began to grow and i began to understand why I actually went to church each week. Since then, the answer to this question has grown and changed and matured with me. I am a Mormon because I believe the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to be Christ's modern day church on earth. I believe that the gospel and truths that I learn at church are the things that will help me to return to my Father in Heaven and that it is the only way to do so. Being a Mormon is not only my faith but part of what makes me, me! It is what brings me stability, knowledge, peace, a greater love and understanding around me, and a joy that is greater than words could ever hope to describe.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying my best to follow the example of my savior. I want to share the gospel with understanding and love. As I learn about other cultures and religions through my major I learn that there is truth and a profound beauty in each. As a serve my mission I hope to bring that belief to the way that I teach my investigators and how I interact with the people of my mission. 1 John 4:8, "He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." I believe that this is one of the most important parts of the gospel and it is how I live my faith.
