Hi I'm Denise

I am from a small town in Texas. I am a Registerd Nurse.I am married and have three children.I am a convert to the LDS church

About Me

I was introduced to the church by my husband in 1994,it took many sets of missionaries and a wonderful home teacher before I finally agreed to be baptized. I was baptized on a cloudy, cold day in November in the creek, at my husband's family ranch. Just as I went under the water, the clouds parted and the sun shone through and as soon as we were done,it clouded over again. We have a blended family as we were both married before and each of us had a daughter from our previous marriages. We have a son together and we were all sealed together as an eternal family. I am a registered nurse and work in a small emergency room. I like the outdoors and am a nascar fan, love to watch football and basketball,I like to read and crochet and embroidery.I also have my private pilot's license, although I have not flown in many years. It was difficult for me to commit to being baptized because of my upbringing in the catholic church, but I had auit going to church when I was a Junior in high school. After my daughter was born,I wanted to raise her rightously, but not comfortable in my church. I then met my husband and joined the church and we have now been married for 17 years and sealed for 12 years

Why I am a Mormon

I felt I needed to raise my daughter in a better environment,I was not comfortable in my church and the more I learned about the LDS church, the better I felt. It was hard because I felt like I was betraying my parents, but I also knew in my heart it was the right thing to do.

How I live my faith

I gave up a lot of bad habits that I had by joining the church. I have been in the primary and now have the calling of chapel cleaning coordinator and building coordinator for any activities that are scheduled. My time is spent supporting our son,who is the only one left at home,in his school and church activities and trying to prepare him for his mission in another 2 1/2 years,I attend church as often as I can,due to my work schedule, and attend the temple when I can.
