Hi I'm Tyson

I'm a grateful husband and proud father of [soon to be] two. I teach ESL & Spanish and love all kinds of people, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a small but beautiful town in Southeast Idaho. Our family had dairy farm and ranch where my parents taught me how to work hard. I'm kind of a nerd and love language a lot. I got the opportunity to learn Spanish on my mission in Atlanta, GA where I learned to love all kinds of people. I started college at BYU-Idaho four days after I got home and 6 months later met my wonderful wife. We've been married for almost three years now and have moved at least six times, and in four different states together. Our crazy life has taken us through a roller coaster of up's and down's, but we've learned that everything seems to work out if we hang on long enough. I now teach ESL and an accelerated Spanish class for Spanish speakers in Rawlins, WY. I love working with teenagers [most of the time] and especially love teaching. When my wife and I heard the news of a temple in Star Valley, we were overcome with emotion and excitement because that's our favorite place in the whole world and we hope to end up there some day, but you never know what the Lord has in store for you.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, or member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, because I came to know that God lives and Jesus is the Christ as a young member of this church. The Holy Spirit has borne a powerful witness to me that God loves us and that he wants to communicate all of his precious truths to both individually and through modern day prophets and apostles. I had a lot of doubts growing up in the Church about God in general, but when I finally read the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, I came to know for myself in a most sacred way that there is a God in Heaven and that He carefully leads us in this troubled times through prophets and apostles. I came to know the healing power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ firsthand. He's helped me to overcome my sins and weaknesses and enabled me to be much better than I would have been by my own power.

How I live my faith

I've served in quite a few different positions in the Church which have stretched me to the limits of my ability. Now I'm up for probably the biggest challenge yet: teaching a bunch of toddlers about the Gospel with my wife.
