Hi I'm Ashley

I am Canadian. I love to be outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am happy! I grew up in western Canada, and went to the University of Alberta, where I received a Bachelor of Education. I am a teacher and I love my adorable nephews. My hobbies include camping, running, and gardening. I love to travel, and it is my ambition to see the world! Recently I served a mission in Antofagasta Chile. I have always wanted to learn Spanish, and I came to love the Chilean people as I helped them learn more about Jesus Christ, and make covenants to follow Him. I love life and I am thankful that I know how to be happy in this life and in the life to come!

Why I am a Mormon

I have been raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My parents taught me well, along with other members of my ward. I remember when I was about to turn 8 years old and my mom sat me down and asked if I wanted to be baptized. I am thankful for the trust she had in me at such a young age. I knew that I wanted to follow Jesus Christ because I felt often felt His love and protection. Later, my testimony grew, slowly and quietly, as I studied, prayed, and followed the commandments. With this, I came to develop a relationship with my Father in Heaven and His son Jesus Christ. I recognize that every good thing that has happened in my life is from God. I know that He is real. He hears and answers my prayers, daily. I testify that His son, Jesus Christ, has experienced every hardship, failure, sorrow, and sin, so that I might not suffer. He has descended below all things and understands me perfectly. He is able to come to my rescue because of his atonement. His church was restored by a man called of God, just as in times of old, and we are lead by a modern prophet today. God knows his people. He knows me and He knows you. I know that He will guide, comfort, protect, and bless us as we trust in Him and follow His counsel.

How I live my faith

I am just a regular person who tries to do good in the world. As a teacher, I have the chance to help children develop their morals and character, and I am privileged to be able to work with them every day. In fact, Jesus Christ taught that we should become like little children... submissive, humble, kind etc. As part of my church responsibilities, I look forward each month to visiting a couple of friends, make sure they are well, and share a message with them about Jesus Christ. Once a month, I go without food and drink (fast) for 24 hours in order to provide a donation that will help those who are unable to provide for themselves. I also donate 10% of my income to the church, and a little every month for those who would like to serve missions. I have been blessed to have been able to serve a mission, have good health, and a good job, that I wish to share what Heavenly Father has blessed me with.
