Hi I'm Jonathon

I live in Salt Lake City and work as an artist and illustrator. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm really blessed to be able to have a job I love. I work in an art gallery where I organize and set up art shows for artists in Utah. This means I get to meet and work with some really talented artists. I also get to paint and do my own art while I'm at the gallery. I mostly paint with acrylics but I also work with digital art as well as pen and ink, chalk, and pencil. I come from a family of 9. I have 4 brothers and 2 sisters and I am the oldest. I also have 3 nieces and 2 nephews. One of my favorite things to do is spend time with my family. I love to hike and camp here in the Utah mountains. I hope that someday I'll be able to travel to other countries and hike in their mountains. I also love to snowboard, see live music and hang out with my close friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. my parents raised me in the church and were influential in helping me to gain a testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel through their example and faithfulness. My own testimony was gained little by little throughout my life. It has grown from a small seed to what it is now and as I have studied and prayed about the Book of Mormon it has grown significantly. Having the gospel of Jesus Christ in my life has helped me to overcome obstacles, understand myself and my relationship with Heavenly Father and where I fit into the grand scheme of things. It has given me hope in times of doubt and discouragement. It has helped me grow closer to my family and friends. It has given me the confidence to do things that seemed impossible to me at the time. Being a member of the church is the single most important thing I have in my life. It is my anchor and my guide.

How I live my faith

I live by example by treating others with respect and love. I work with a very diverse range of people. Even though I live in Salt Lake, most of the people I work with are not Mormon so I I try to treat them with the same deference I would like to receive. I serve in my church as a librarian and as a home teacher to 3 families in my neighborhood. I visit them to see how they are doing and to share a spiritual and uplifting message with them.
