Hi I'm Morgan

I live for adventure! I'm a highly outnumbered female Mechanical Engineer. I design military aircraft. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a Mechanical Engineer working for a major aerospace company. I design/repair/engineer military aircraft. This was my dream since high school. I am working on my Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering part-time while working full-time. I love adventures and can often be found exploring uncharted territory on weekends in the form of hikes, ruins, and natural wonders. I like to read, play basketball, go camping, go geocaching, take road trips, and visit new places. I work to support my exploring habit.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe that, as the Bible says, the Lord is the same yesterday, today, and forever. This is one reason why the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the Lord's one true church upon the face of the earth - we believe in prophets, temples, sacred temple ordinances, revelation, scriptures, tithing, commandments, baptism, priesthood, the gift of the Holy Ghost, and a endless list of other vital principles and doctrines that the Lord Himself revealed as foundations of His gospel. An unchanging God would not change the essential principles and doctrines underlying His church - He has, at various times, asked His followers to perform different tasks, but always to accomplish His purposes in ways that are in harmony with those same principles and doctrines. But I am not just a member because it makes sense logically or because I was born and raised in it - I am a member because I have had countless witnesses given to me by the Holy Ghost each time I have sincerely sought to know of the truthfulness of it. Heavenly Father loves us. Because He loves us, He will always send answers to our prayers if we sincerely desire and do everything in our power to learn those answers. I know He will give this same witness to anyone willing to humbly learn more about the gospel and who is willing to act upon any direction given to them from God. Having the gospel in my life gives me a sense of purpose and direction. Knowing that I am a daughter of my Heavenly Father and that my Savior loved me enough to atone for my sins helps me to to be a better person and to know, day by day, that Heavenly Father has certain expectations of me. Being a member of the gospel taught and continues to teach me what those expectations are. I believe that the most sure-fire way to be happy and to lead a fulfilling life is by learning what God wants me to do and then doing it. The gospel offers this direction and assures happiness, both in this life and in the one to come.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by serving. Most of my service has been specifically with my fellow women in the church, teaching and serving in various ways. I volunteered for two years in college working with elementary school kids, teaching them about robotics and engineering principles and organizing district-wide robotics competitions for them to compete in. While this was a hefty commitment (both in time and, some days, in patience) - I know that the Savior suffered the little children to come unto Him and that we bring Him joy when we treat the little children around us with love, patience, kindness, and gentleness. I think few things bring the Savior as much joy as when we treat others the way He would treat them. I try to live my faith by doing the same. I know that when I am obedient to the promptings and ideas that are given to me by the Holy Ghost to help others, that I am showing the Lord that He can trust me with more promptings and even more ways to make a difference in the lives of my brothers and sisters, all sons and daughters of God, and that I can do even more to help the Lord accomplish His purposes and his desires for us.
