Hi I'm April

I grew up in Colorado. Enjoy creativity. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work full time at a communications company and am currently studying nutrition in hopes to help others know how to eat healthy and help them feel good about themselves. In my free time, when I have it, I like to spend time with my husband, family, make greeting cards, exercise and just relax.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that is Latter Day Saints. Both my parents are true converts meaning that neither one of them were born into the church. My mother was raised catholic until the age of 18 when she was baptized into the LDS church and my father was raised Methodist/Baptist until he was in his 30's when he was baptized into the LDS church. My mother told me at one point that I have the freedom to pursue other religions. I always believed that the gospel of Jesus Christ was true but when I was younger could not say that I KNEW it was true, I believed it was true, I knew that I felt something that was good. It wasn't until I decided to serve a full time mission that I found out for myself that the gospel is true and I could honestly say that I KNOW that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true. It was an experience that I will never forget when I was in the MTC (Missionary Training Center) when I found this out; it was perfect timing as I was being trained to serve 18 months in the Massachusetts Boston Mission teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that Jesus Christ lives and knows every one of us by name He loves us and wants us all to succeed and live with Him again someday. I know that our prayers are answered, not in ways that we want them or when we want them, but they are always answered. I know that I can find comfort and peace when I read the scriptures or pray to Heavenly Father. He has given us the Holy Ghost to comfort and guide us throughout our lives and it is up to us if we let that comforter in. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and is a companion with the Holy Bible. I can tell you all of this, but it is up to you to find out that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith in such a way that those around me notice that there is something different about me. I serve as the 2nd counselor in my Stake's Young Women's Presidency. Here I am able to get to know all of the young women in the stake or region and train the leaders in each ward and teach the young women within all of the wards in the stake. I try to serve people around me and within my community whether it is cleaning up a road way or giving blood. I have served in many capacities within the church from organizing church activities to teaching the youth. Every calling or responsibility is different and I learn and grow from each one. I am honest with everyone who I come in contact with and am not someone different in each setting that I am in. I am the same at work, school and church. I am not afraid to talk to people about my faith and beliefs.
