Hi I'm Brittney

I'm a Mormon...now. I grew up not knowing much about the church. Then at 26 years of age, the missionaries knocked on my door.

About Me

I'm a native Hoosier and even attended college here in Indiana. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Health and Fitness and Master's degree in Health Promotion. I studied the effects of exercise and Parkinson's disease during my graduate school years. I currently am a wife and mother of one, but we're a growing family. Although I cherish my education, I cannot imagine a life that wasn't focused on my family. I love to cook & bake and listen to music...especially if it's my husband on the piano. Staying active brings me joy; whether it's cycling, walking, camping, or just playing ball with our son.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up knowing very little about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. When I was 26 years old, the missionaries came knocking on my door. I listened to their message, and felt I needed to learn more about this faith. After learning more about the beliefs and feeling how different my life felt living them, I knew I needed to be baptized just as Jesus Christ had been. Living and understanding this gospel has brought me more joy than I ever imagined was possible...a permanent, eternal joy. I wish that everyone I met could let down their guard, put aside their fears, and experience this change & happiness for themselves.

How I live my faith

We live our faith everyday, with every decision we make. I am NOT perfect and neither is anyone in our family. Yes we make mistakes, but we are trying everyday to live as Jesus Christ lived. I work with the children in our branch (congregation). Their innocence and spirit rings through to me everyday that this gospel is true, that Heavenly Father loves us, and that if we continue to live through the example set forth by Jesus Christ, we can find true happiness here on Earth.

Why don’t Mormons drink coffee, tea, or alcohol? What is the Mormon Church’s law of health and proper diet?

Our bodies are a gift that we need to cherish and take care of through eating right and proper exercise. We need to be in control of our bodies to make good decisions that co-incide with the teachings of Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father. We cannot possibly make good decisions if we are under the influence of alcohol and other drugs. Being a convert myself, I have seen no good come from the use of any of these substances.
