Why I am a Mormon

Growing up in the busy city of Los Angeles and with the traditions of a Latin Catholic family was tough. I had many friends and family that struggled with substance abuse and gangs. There came a point when my family was struggling with various things and we felt like we were missing something and that something was God. We investigated different religions for about three years and nothing seemed to be working out. My second cousin had returned from serving an LDS mission and referred the missionaries to us. From the second we met the missionaries we felt an instant sense of peace, love, and comfort. We attended Sunday services a few days later and were welcomed with open arms. The ward mission leader befriended us immediately and later that evening took us to the visitor's center at the Los Angeles Temple. He explained to us that we could be sealed as a family for all eternity at the temple. What we desired most was to save our family and be together forever. We were baptized a month after meeting the missionaries. I have been an active member of the church for 11 years now and have never looked back. I'm so grateful that my parents took us on the search for that greater power. I'm Mormon because through the Gospel i have learned that we are all unique children of our Heavenly Father. He knows what we go through, good and bad, and will never lead us astray. He loves us and he shows us everyday. .I'm Mormon because through the most powerful tool we have, prayer, i have received the confirmation of the truthfulness of the Gospel and have felt His love, peace, and comfort. I'm Mormon because the Gospel saved my family and I can be with them forever and most importantly Because I LOVE MY HEAVENLY FATHER:)

How I live my faith

The most special way I live my faith is through performing. I'm in a multicultural group that represents five cultures. Latin, Asian, Polynesian, African, and Native American. We show our love and appreciation for education,Cultures, our ancestors, and our love for Heavenly father through song and dance. We volunteer to perform, tutor, and teach others about all these things 10+ hours a week year round. We tour to different states and countries to share this message. In the three and a half years I've been a part of this special group I have been able to share the happiness the Gospel has given me.
