Hi I'm Kendra

I am a stay at home mom in East Texas. I homeschool our children. I love to read and play games. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to a wonderful man. We have four children, three living. Our first daughter was a full-term stillborn. We then had two more daughters and a son. We don't feel like our family is complete yet and plan to have more children. We have also begun the journey of homeschooling our children. The oldest just started 1st grade this year and we are all enjoy the things we are learning and the people we are meeting in our communtiy. I have many interests such as reading, singing, piano, scrapbooking, crafting, playing board games with family, baking, and always learning new things. Mostly I keep busy raising our three kids who are a joy to me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a home where the gospel of Jesus Christ was lived everyday. My parents are Mormons and so are their parents. Even with a heritage of mormon ancestors this church has always stressed gaining your own testimony. As a teenager I read the Book of Mormon and I asked God in prayer myself if it was true. He answered me and I can say that I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. As I grew I continued to learn for myself that Joseph Smith was a prophet, and that this church is Christ's Church on the earth now. I know also that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that it is only through him that we can be with our Heavenly Father again. When our first daughter was stillborn I was comforted by the teachings in Christ's church that my little daughter would be with us again as long as we kept the promises we had made to God and kept his commandments. The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints continues to be a strength in my life and it brings me peace everyday.

How I live my faith

In our community I try to be an example of the believers by serving others and keeping the commandments of God. In our church I serve by teaching a class to the women of the church. I also get to choose all of the sacred hymns that the congregation sings each Sunday and I play the piano for the church choir which sings once a month. I feel that music is such an important and sacred part of worship and I love to serve in this way. I also support my husband as he currently serves as the Bishop of our ward. This is large time commitment for him and he is often away from home for meetings and visits to the members of our ward. We serve and give our time because we love the Lord and we know this is what he wants us to do.
