Hi I'm Christine

I am a native Californian. I am an accountant. I am a wife and mother. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a native Californian. I have been married for 25 years to my amazing and hardworking husband who is a family practice physician. I have two children, a 21 year-old daughter and an 18 year-old son. I love being a mother and supporting my children in their activities and interests! I am an accountant and I currently work from home for my husband's practice. I am a Phoenix Suns fan. You might find me sitting behind the visiting team during a home game. I enjoy swimming, reading, scrapbooking and traveling, especially to the beach. I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

While growing up in Southern California, my family and I were members of the Presbyterian faith. We did not attend church regularly. I remember attending Sunday School occasionally and learning about Jesus Christ. I had an intense desire to learn more. At the age of 7, I asked my mom if we could please go to church. My dad worked six days a week with Sunday being his only day off and he wanted to sleep. My mom did not want to go to church without my dad. So, we only attended once in awhile. My best friend, Denise, lived down the street from me. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, a Mormon. She invited me to her baptism when she was eight years old. I attended church occasionally with Denise and her family for several years and then I started attending regularly when I was eleven. With my parents permission, I had the missionary discussions. The missionaries challenged me to read the Book of Mormon and to find out for myself whether it was the word of God or not. I read the Book of Mormon, I studied and I prayed and I knew by the power of the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon was the word of God. I was baptized by immersion one month after my 13th birthday. I was following in the footsteps of my Savior and I was coming to know Him in a very real and personal way as I learned and lived the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I learned about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints it was very familiar to me. It felt warm, it felt comfortable, it felt safe and I knew it was right. When I joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I felt as if I was coming home. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know Heavenly Father lives, that I am His daughter and He loves me. I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I know I can repent of my sins and become clean again because of the atoning sacrifice of our Savior. I know when I keep the commandments of God I am blessed.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by loving and serving others. I serve first and foremost in my home as a wife and a mother. I view this as my greatest responsibility and it brings me the greatest joy to see that my children have the desire to love and serve others and to live righteous and productive lives. I have served my community as a Homeowners Association and PTO Board member as the Secretary and/or the Treasurer. I have been the Treasurer of the Parents Chorale organization at the High School and the Volunteer Coordinator at the Junior High. I have volunteered in my children's classrooms and schools throughout their school years and I continue to serve as a volunteer at the Elementary School. I have been the room mom and the team mom, often at the same time. I currently serve in the women's organization in our ward (congregation). I help plan and carry out weekday meetings that help the women increase their faith and personal righteousness, strengthen their families and give service to those in need. I also have the opportunity to visit two women in their homes on a monthly basis, share a message and be genuinely interested in their lives and their families. I have had many opportunities throughout the years to serve with the children and young women at church. I just recently worked with the young women for over two years. I love their enthusiasm for life and their desire to make good choices. I am nowhere near perfect, but I try each day to follow the example of my Savior, Jesus Christ, and to become more like Him.
