Hi I'm Robert

I grew up in Wyoming. My GG Grandfather was an early convert to the Church. I am related to Brigham Young and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a retired businessman, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. I grew up in Cheyenne, Wyoming. My Great Great Grandfather, Ira was an early convert to the church and was a relative to Brigham Young who was descended from the first daughter of the Ames founding father. My heritage goes back to the beginning of the Church. I served in the US Air Force during the Korean conflict, afterwards moving to California where I pursued a career in manufacturing. I served as a Vice-President to a medium sized company who produced parts for the automotive industry. I lived in England for seven years developing our business operation there. I am married with five children, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

Why I am a Mormon

I became a Mormon by birth. My heritage goes back to the early days of the Church. I grew up quite active, but in my early adult life I drifted away and became inactive for more years than I care to admit. During those years of inactivity I never once denounced the church or felt it wasn't true, but I was very indifferent. Upon the death of my first wife, I began to contemplate where my life was and what I should do with it for the remainder of my time here on the earth. I began to get strong impressions that I should return to church. So I carefully and with great trepidation began to attend meetings and read the scriptures, specifically the Book of Mormon. At first I was very tenuous and doubtful about being accepted again. I studied from a analytical viewpoint and searched for answers that made sense to me. The more I searched and questioned the more reasonable and logical the answers came, and before long I found a spiritual response to my questions. It was at that point that I received my true testimony to the truth of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have no doubt that the Holy Ghost was counseling and directing me all along. I found the people very friendly and understanding. They accepted me for what I was and didn't judge me. Today I can bear my testimony that I KNOW this church to be true, that the Gospel is true and that Joseph Smith was and is a true prophet of God. I witness that we have a living Prophet at the head of this church today, in Thomas S. Monson. I know that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the living Savior of the world. I bear this witness in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

How I live my faith

Today my activity in the Church is strong and varied. I serve as a Secretary in my organization. I Home Teach four families each month, and organize and arrange for volunteers for various Stake and Ward service assignments. I work at the Mesa, AZ Temple one day a week as an Ordinance Worker. Living in a retirement community provides many opportunities for service to those who are sick or unable to physically do for themselves. We have a number of elderly widows whom we visit and perform various household tasks for them. I derive great joy and comfort in helping others, as I know they will help me, if and when, I need their assistance. It is a community of strong, righteous and joyful people. I am grateful that the Lord directed me to return to church service. I find great comfort and joy in doing so.
