Hi I'm Callie Smidt

I'm a musician and a student. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Music is my life. I am nothing without my music player or piano books. Music has been an influence on my life pretty much since I was born. I play both the piano and the organ for my church. I hope to teach my mom, my older brother, and my future children how to play the piano someday. I'm still trying to figure out how to write a song. I also enjoy learning history in school. I hope to get a degree in a field of history somehow and help finish my familys geneology. I love drawing (I have the most artistic stick figures from what I'm told), writing stories, and playing with my dog.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I've grown up in this church and I know that it is the true church of Christ. I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet and we still have a living prophet on this earth today. I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior and Heavenly Father is our true father. We are all sons and daughters of a heavenly king. We all have the Light of Christ within us. I know that families can be together forever and as long as we stay true to the gospel, we will one day return to our Heavenly Father. I know that we are always being watched over by Him and He loves more than anything else and knows our names, personalities, weaknesses, and strengths. I know without a doubt that both the Bible and the Book of Mormon are the word of God. I know that Jesus will come again and He will bless all who follow Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by dressing modestly, reading my scriptures and praying every night before I go to bed, and attending my meetings, youth group nights, and church every sunday. I play the organ for sacrament meeting and I play the piano for the youth on both sunday and on youth group night, in seminary, and sometimes for the younger children. I help organize events for youth group and sometimes for my ward. I don't swear, smoke, or drink alcohol. I refuse to listen to music that is degrading, has swearing, or has themes that are questionable to the teachings of the church. I try to be an example to others by being kind and giving service to those in need.
