Hi I'm Pamela

I'm many things. Daughter, Sister, Mother, Friend, Baker. The thing I like being the most is a disciple of Jesus Christ.

About Me

I currently reside in the great state of Washington. It does, in fact, rain a lot, but only in the winter months. I moved there in the spring of 2008 and fell in love. I love the landscape, I love the people, and I even love the rain! It is my home. Besides being a Washingtonian, I am a mother, a sister, a daughter, and aunt, a friend, and I am also known as a jack of all trades. Light plumbing? No problem! Minor electrical? I can manage it with little risk of an emergency room visit. Painting? Furniture Moving? Cleaning? Tutoring? Accounting? Chauffeuring? Cooking? Just a few on the ever growing list of things I can do in any given day! When I'm not pretending to be a caped crusader, I love to read. I love to hike at my mountain and camp with my family and friends. I try to learn something new every day. Luckily, my children's homework provides ample opportunity for me during the school year. I have lived in 5 different states (all of them at least twice!) and moved 11 times since leaving for college at the age of 18. When I can find the time I love to make cakes. I learned at a church activity and loved it so much I started making them for my friends. I better keep my skills sharp, since my son has already committed me to making his wedding cake! I am a firm believer in choice and accountability. I love to laugh more than almost anything. I especially love surrounding myself with the people that bring me joy, which isn't hard to do when you know where to look.

Why I am a Mormon

I was blessed to have the gospel shared with me when I was just beginning to look for the gap I felt in my life. I was 17 and many paths were opening up for me. A long time friend took a chance and shared a copy of the Book of Mormon with me. She had written her testimony on the inside cover. Of all the places I had looked for God to help direct me in my life, it was in this book that I felt Him most strongly. My soul desired to learn more before even my head could form the questions. She and her family lovingly hosted myself and the missionaries many times so that I could learn more about my Father in Heaven, Jesus Christ, what He did for me, and what I could do to return back to Heaven. I learned things that my soul already knew and received confirmation again and again that this was the same gospel that Jesus, Himself gave to the people while He was here on earth. I had no hesitation to commit to the commandments of the Lord. Through all my trials and all my joys He has been there for me. I know that my Father loves me and that I can be happy through faith and obedience in His words. The promise of happiness is more than enough to keep me trying every day to do my best to keep His commandments. Some days are better than others, but because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ on my behalf, I know that I can be forgiven of my mistakes and I can keep trying my best every day. I am a Mormon because it gives me hope, peace and strength like nothing else can.

How I live my faith

I try to live my life every day in a way that would please my Father in Heaven. I try to serve others they way Christ showed me in the scriptures. I participate in service projects that help beautify my community and I serve as a teacher of children in my ward. I have always had a deep love for the youngest of children and the Lord has continually blessed me with the opportunity to teach them so that I may continue learning. I have taught many ages from twelve all the way down to eighteen months. I love to sing songs that teach about God, Jesus Christ, Love, and all the Lord's creations. I love reading and teaching lessons on Sunday that share the Scriptures and their lessons. My heart fills with Joy as the children come to recognize Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the love They have for us. My desire is to get the children excited about learning what the Lord has to offer them and when I see understanding in those sweet faces, I know that I am right where the Lord wants me. The fulfillment and joy comes from when they can learn for themselves to gain their own testimony of our Lord.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Pamela
They will talk about Jesus Christ. They will teach about God's Plan of Salvation, which is the plan that allows us to return to Him. They will answer any questions you have about God, His son, and His Gospel. Show more Show less
