Hi I'm Jeremy

Fianancial analyst, massage therapist, insurance salesman, bakery manager, professional mountain biker and a Mormon.

About Me

I've had an eclectic life, as you can tell by my intro, and those are only a few of the things I've done. My interests are as wide and diverse as my life path. From business to philosophy, biology to statistical analysis, I enjoy all aspects of the world around me. I love learning and am about halfway through my masters degree in business administration. My wife and I enjoy reading, gardening, good movies and all outdoor recreation.

Why I am a Mormon

I read the Book of Mormon for the first time when I was 18 and It changed my life. Before I read it, I didn't really know what joy was. I knew how to have fun, but that was just temporary, it only lasted as long as the activity or the excitement. But as I read the Book of Mormon, something changed, I changed. My heart was converted to Christ and I felt an inner peace that was unlike anything I had experienced before. I started to see the world differently. I saw people differently. I don't know when it happened, but sometime between the beginning of the book and the end, I found Christ and I knew the book was true. After that, Christ became a part of my everyday life. Prayer and scripture study became an everyday occurrence. The peace that I found and the inner fountain of joy that accompanied it were always with me. I am a Mormon because living a Christ centered life brings me joy. He makes me a better person. Honestly, everything I am today is the result of reading the Book of Mormon and getting to know Christ. I am still learning, and I have a long way to go, but I am happy because of Christ. I can't ask for any more than that.

How I live my faith

My faith is part of everything I do, every single day. My day starts with scripture study and prayer. At work, I try to be Christ-like in my interactions with others. At home, my wife and I read scriptures and pray together regularly. We pray over each meal. We have pictures of Christ, the prophets, and temples throughout the house. We both serve in the church. My wife works with the young women in the ward. She teaches them and plans activities that will help them become the women that they can be. I serve as president of the men's organization coordinating classes, activities, and home visits for all the men in the ward and their families. With the other men in the ward, we try to visit each family in their home at least once a month, bringing with us a faith inspiring message and learning if their family has special needs we can assist with. Our days and weeks are full of Christ and service in his church. In addition, our long term plans are a result of living a Christ centered life. When we have children, my wife wants to stay at home to teach and raise them. Accordingly, I am focused on work and school so that, when that happens, I can provide for my family. At the same time, we are planning for retirement so that, when that day comes, we can go on missions and serve the people of the world. In Summary - Because of my relationship with Christ, I want to be a force for good in this world. My daily actions, my career choices and my long-term planning are a result of that relationship. I try to live my life for Christ.
