Hi I'm Marvin

I was born in Hamilton Montana the year of 1939 during the end of the depression. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am married and have four children and thirteen grandchildren and we love the times we can get together. We love to play tag and outside games and inside games too. We use the internet to keep us posted on what each one is doing and that is a great help in maintaining good family ties.

Why I am a Mormon

I lived in Montana and consitered myself a member of the church in our town. A dear lady from the church that we assciated a lot with came to us and said she would not be going to church with us no more as her church called the Mormon church was starting this week to meet in our town and she would be attending there. This upset us because she was our dear friend and as she bore her testimony to us we consitered going to church with her. My dad and mom drank coffee all day long and my dad smoked four packs of cigarettes a day. The Mormon missionaries came and taught us how to pray from the heart and not from set prayers. They also taught us about the Holy Ghost and the blessings we could receive if we read the Book of Mormon and we did read and did recieve and were baptised. We did quit drinking coffee and dad quit smoking. I know the Book of Mormon is true and that God has put his church on the earth for us to find our way back to him. The Mormon church is a way of life not just a Sunday go to meeting place. Its where you learn and live so your family can be together for ever and that is real important to us. My dad got cancer after his baptism from the smoking he did in his past years and passed away a year later just before my high school graduation. I know I will see and be with my family after this life and what a confort that is to me in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

How I live my faith

I have had different callings in the Mormon Church of which was in the Scouting program as a Scout Committee Chairman and got transpertation to outing such as Havasupi Hike down the Grand Canyon in Arizona. It was a ten mile hike down and a ten miles back out of which we had a lot of fun doing. I was called to be a Missionary in our Stake and met a lot of fine people. I am a head of a group of men now and we are called the High Priest Group and we take care of the widows by doing yard work to fixing and checking their cars to transporting them when needed. We just got done clearing twenty acres of desert brush so the area would look good and the women that owned the property could have room for her horses. It is great to seave and work together as a team. We also visit the widows and families each month to see they are ok and to leave a short message with them. What a great blessing it is.
