Hi I'm Jodi

I'm a regular, thirty-something wife and Mom to three boys......and I'm still alive! AND......I'm a Mormon! :)

About Me

I've been married for just over 14 years and am a Mom to three boys. I grew up in Southern Utah, but married a Navy man and lived in several areas of the country before he got out of the Navy, 8 years into our marriage. We currently live in Tennessee and we love it here! My children are now all in school full time, so I've come to that point in life where I've to go figure out what I want to do next in life....while also being a wife and Mom! I love to cook and craft. I've become a bit of a health nut and love to exercise. I especially love Zumba classes! During warmer months, I love to spend time in the outdoors with my family camping and hiking and pretty much doing anything together.

Why I am a Mormon

As I said before, I grew up in Southern Utah. So, you might have already guessed, I am a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My family roots in the Church go back nearly to its very beginning. Though I was born and raised a Mormon, there comes a point in every life-long Mormon's life that choices are made of whether or not to continue on with what we are raised with. When I was 12, my friend was talking with the missionaries and learning of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I sat through it all with her as a friend and support and through it, gained my own testimony to the truth of it. I have never had a doubt in my mind since. Jesus Christ and his true gospel are the firm rock and foundation in my life. No matter where I have been or have lived, no matter what has changed or hardships of life I have endured, it has always been my center. I have never doubted that I am a very much loved child of our Father in Heaven and knowing his plan has kept me centered and given me much peace in my life. Over the past 5 years, our family has experienced the loss of precious family members. Though it's still painful and we miss them every day, knowing that we will see them again and that families are forever, gives us peace and joy and soothes that pain. I know that our Heavenly Father has a plan and that each of us are His children and have our own special part in that plan. I know that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God and that he restored the true Church of Jesus Christ to the earth. I am grateful to know that we still have a living Prophet on the earth today who teaches us and guides us in the way of the Lord. I am grateful for the joy and peace that the full gospel of Jesus Christ brings to my life and for how it blesses myself and my family. I wish that same assurance, peace and joy for all of you reading this.

How I live my faith

My faith is in every part of my life. It's in the choices that I make every single day, in my marriage and how we raise our children. I have had many callings or jobs/positions in the Church. Most of my callings have been teaching very small children and teaching them the very basics of the gospel and teaching them how their Heavenly Father's love for them is evident in all the world around them. I am now serving in our Young Women's organization and am enjoying this calling immensely. It is great to work with such beautiful and strong young ladies and refreshing to see that in this crazy world, they are leading great lives and the light of Christ is in their eyes.
