Hi I'm Jessica Braithwaite

"I'm a Mormon I know it, I live it, I love it" My name's Jessica Braithwaite and I'm a mormon!

About Me

I was born into an active LDS family living in Rose Park Utah. I absolutely loved growing up surrounded my mountains and snow! When I was 14 years old my family packed up and moved to Milford Michigan. I 100% hated it! My first year in Michigan was a real test of faith and forced me to start asking the hard questions and gain a testimony of my own. A year later we moved once again to Novi Michigan. Where I was hugely blessed with friends, a great ward and amazing opportunities to learn and try new things. From there I moved to a small town in Watford where I spent my days working at The Good Shepard Nursing Home and preparing for a mission.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know the book of Mormon is the word of God! I've received answers to my prayers. I've felt the spirit so much in my life that there is no denying it. I'm a Mormon because I want others to know the truth and be received back into the arms of there Savior. This is the only true church on the earth today and who wouldn't want to be a part of that. Plus we're just awesome.

How I live my faith

As part of this church i've learn that we need to be examples and missionaries to those around us. Each time I struggle with a trail I at first normally turn away from the lord but lately i've really been working hard on truning to him. I try my very must to share the light of Christ with those around me. I work on personal progress, I read my scriptures each day, I pray when i'm happy, sad, upset, greatful, lonely confussed I just love to pray. I'm not better then anyone else in any way shape or form but what's important is the standards I live. I love this gospel it brings true joy to my life. I love the spirit that i've felt and the happiness that I find.

What is a “testimony” that Mormons speak of?

Jessica Braithwaite
A testimony is a statement of those things you know to be true. A testimony is something you gain when feeling the spirit or after receiving an answer to a prayer. Like a garden you continually need to nurture and protect the knowledge planted inside you. When the "floods" of life come it may be hard to salvage what is left of your garden (testimony) but if we try each day to fertilize (pray, read the scriptures, go to church) your plants can be strong and constant. Why do Mormons baptize their new members?

Jessica Braithwaite
Baptism is so wonderful. From the scriptures we learn that to enter into God's kingdom we need to follow His Son, Jesus Christ's example and be baptized. When you are baptized all your sins are forgiven you and you are spiritually reborn. You can then become the newest and most perfect member of the church! It is important to remember that when baptized you are symbolically promising God that you will follow Christ's example and become his Disciple. Show more Show less
