Hi I'm Stacy

I'm a wife and mother of two daughters. I grew up in WA state and have lived in Honolulu, San Diego and Denver. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in WA state. There were five kids in my family, so my parents needed space! My childhood home was on a bay in the Puget Sound. I love the ocean! I have been very lucky to always live near the water (two years in Honolulu and ten years in San Diego), but a move about five years ago took my family to the mountains. I am married and have two beautiful daughters. I'm a stay at home mom and love it. Our girls are growing up too fast...but we are anxious for what the next few years will bring. The "teenage" talk around our house (lately) has been all about buying a car, the SAT/ACT tests, the high school girls golf team, piano lessons and the school play. Life is busy but wonderful. I enjoy running, yardwork and family vacations. My favorite place in the world is Disneyland! I love date nights with my husband and serving in my church.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints my whole life. I am a Mormon because I love my Church. The gospel of Jesus Christ makes me happy and blesses my family. I know that I have a Heavenly Father who loves me. I know that He lives and that He is my Father. I know that Jesus Christ is His Son, our Savior. I know that following the teachings of Jesus Christ helps me to have peace and perspective. His teachings help me as a wife, mother and friend. His teachings bless my children. My greatest desire is to live a Christ-like life. I love to read about Jesus Christ in the Bible. I love to read about His life and ministry, how He healed the sick and tended to the "one". I know the Bible is true. I know the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and I know it is true. I have read the Book of Mormon many times and my faith in Jesus Christ has grown from reading this book. I am a Mormon because my church teaches the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

One of the things I love most about my Church is that we have opportunities to serve in the wards (congregations) where we live. I have been able to teach Sunday School to teenagers many times, and also an Old Testament Sunday School class to adults. Currently, I am a music leader to the children in my congregation ages 1 to 11. It's like being in heaven! Last summer, I went to "young women Girl's camp" as a camp leader. We had a fabulous group of girls. Our assignments change every couple of years, but one unique role women have in my Church is that we can be "visiting teachers". It is so much fun. Our women's organization participates in activities throughout the year, but every month I take a friend and we visit 2 or 3 other women from Church, in their homes. We visit and check on each other, help and serve when needed and really just take care of each other. I absolutely love this program. I try to live my faith in word and action. I want people to know that I try to follow Jesus Christ by how I live my life. My husband and I have tried to instill these values in our children. Every Monday evening we have "family night" where my husband and I spend time with our daughters talking about their concerns, goals and anything else that teenage girls need to talk about! We also read the scriptures together, teach values and have family prayer. This time together is a great blessing for our family. I don't know how I would have the tools necessary to raise children in this world without the principles found in the teachings of my church.
