Hi I'm Kara

I am a wife, a mother, an engineer, an explorer and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I graduated from Arizona State University with a Degree in Chemical Engineering. Since then I have been hired by a semiconductor tool manufacturer to work as a Process Engineer. My job gives me opportunities to travel around the world, and I have made it a hobby to try and visit as many different Temples as I can. I have found a sense of "home" by visiting the temple while I am traveling. I have been married for three years to a man who is devoted to Eternal Marriage. I could not be more blessed by his diligence, and passion for a successful, happy marriage. I have learned from my husband that one of the greatest blessings offered by Christ's life was the Atonement, and the real chance we have for change. We have discovered that our marriage is more successful because of the wholesome recreational activities that we plan for ourselves. We bond while we are exploring the nearby mountains for old mine shafts and ghost towns, quadding, or playing games with our neighbors. We particularly love to take our puppy to new places and let her run us around to exhaustion. We have one daughter who is a blessing to us with every smile. I love getting to know my relationship with my parents, and my heavenly parents better through my relationship with her. I am proud of my beliefs. I am proud to be a Christian. I am proud of my divine role as a woman.

Why I am a Mormon

I used to wonder how I could really know if there was a God? It occurred to me that there probably was no way to scientifically prove (or disprove) the existence of God. I would have to choose whether or not I wanted to believe and move forward. So, I decided to believe. After that simple decision I started to understand how Faith really works. When I had acted on my decision, the comfort and peace that only our Heavenly Father can provide came to me. I then realized I had been wrong before. I could prove to myself that there was a God. Now I choose to follow God's commandments and I am blessed everyday. I choose to live a healthy lifestyle. By doing this I have the freedom over my choices and over my judgment. I choose to participate in my local church community. I am edified by those around me. I learn and I grow. I am lifted by and surrounded by friends. I am continually reminded of principles which are the basis of true happiness. I choose to pay my tithing. If I had a dollar for every blessing I have received from paying my tithing I would be a very wealthy woman. I am blessed with wisdom, and security. I genuinely believe that I cannot afford not to pay tithing. I choose to be worthy for temple ordinances. By doing this I receive strength, and answers, and peace. I allow my family the opportunity to be together eternally. I give my marriage purpose to succeed. I choose to believe in the existence of Heavenly Father and his Son.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by staying active in my church community. It isn't always easy, it can be difficult to devote so much time to the church. In the end however, it is always worth it to have the return of love around us. The friends we make, and the service that is returned to us. I know that we will never be allowed to fall, because there will always be a support system around us to keep us going. I am happy to devote myself to such an organization. Right now I volunteer with the children during church services. I help teach lessons to the 4 year olds, and I try to teach them of the love that Heavenly Father has for them.
