Hi I'm Jennie

I grew up in California. I live in the Midwest. I'm a pharmacist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mom. I have one little boy and my husband and I are expecting our second child. I work as a pharmacist in a hospital. I love to play the piano and organ, read Jane Austen novels, garden, and crochet. I have taught crocheting classes for my neighbors and one of my favorite projects was getting together a group of neighbors to all crochet baby booties and hats to donate.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as a member of the church. The church has core standards that helped me as a youth keep my spirit, body and mind healthy. I remember going to a church camp for teenage girls. Each day we had time to exercise, time to serve, and time to study the scriptures. During one scripture study time, I was out in the woods sitting and reading the Book of Mormon. As the time passed, the sun shifted in the sky and burst through the leaves in golden rays. I was reminded of Joseph Smith's experience in the Sacred Grove, where he saw God, the Father and His son, Jesus Christ when Joseph was only 14 years old. My soul was filled with the warm assurance from the Holy Ghost that the Book of Mormon that I was reading was true. I knew then that Joseph Smith really did see God and Jesus Christ, that he really did receive the golden plates from the Angel Moroni and translate the record of an ancient people who lived on the American Continent. I'm a Mormon, because I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints is true. I love the Book of Mormon and how reading it brings me closer to my Father in Heaven.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by playing the organ during our worship services. I teach a group of 5 and 6 year olds in Sunday School. I attend the temple to perform ordinances for those who have died without learning about the need to be baptized and have other ordinances performed. I read the scriptures every day on my own and with my family. I try to teach my son about Jesus, Heavenly Father, and the Holy Ghost. He loves to point out Jesus in pictures and tell me the stories about how Jesus got baptized and how Jesus was resurrected.
