Hi I'm Bryan

I grew up in many countries. I flew helicopters, my last 14 years in the 160th SOAR (A), I am a retired Vet and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a married father of three. Our daughter is 24, married, and her husband (who served a mission in Mexico City) is in Med School. Their two precious sons are our only grandchildren. Next, our eldest son is attending BYU-I with a year left for his degree. He is 23. Our last lives with us and is now 18 and finishing High School and preparing for college. We enjoy his presence and wish the others could be here always. I lived in many countries while growing up (Somalia, England, Belgium, Argentina, Spain, Indonesia) and visited many more. I love the various cultures of the world and after learning the fullness of the doctrine of Jesus Christ the similarities between the various beliefs in the world point to a distinct singular origin. Despite the broad variety of cultures of those who join this Church, in the end the culture of Christ is what we all share in the church. I attended Texas Tech University, then graduated from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I enjoyed my career flying helicopters in the U.S. Army, spending my last 14 years flying Special Operations. Flying Special Operations missions was one of the highlights of my life. I am now medically retired due to injuries. I love to work in the Temple, walk and exercise within my limits, study the scriptures, teach the Gospel and help those in need. My wife and I can now spend time together after all my years absent from home. Though this particular point in life is difficult, I am enjoying this new chapter.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a different church and though my mother was diligent, the teachings left me cold and without comfort. My mother died when I was 13. In my teens, I read the New Testament through one weekend and knew then, as I do now, that Jesus Christ truly is The Son of the Living God. Later in my early 20s I continued searching for answers to the who, what, when, where, and why of life. I sent for a small book called Truth Restored. I read it & called a number and soon had two young men teaching me. Though new to me, I felt I was recalling things already taught. You will feel the same. I was encouraged to read the Book of Mormon. I read it. They asked me to pray to Heavenly Father for a confirmation that it was true. When I prayed I felt an overwhelming sense of peace. That sense of peace was my answer. If ANYONE with pure intent reads the Book of Mormon they will gain a witness of Jesus Christ and His mission. The full doctrine of Jesus Christ brings peace and joy to your soul and expands your mind. It helps you to live in harmony with others, allowing you to accept their faults as well as your own. I love the Lord Jesus Christ with all my heart and anxiously await the day when I may return to live with Father in Heaven and Our Dear Savior. If you are reading this and feel impressed to learn more i invite you to contact me without delay. I would really love to hear from you and would be most happy to answer your questions.

How I live my faith

I was called to teach the 10-11 year old young men in our ward. I love these little guys though they can be frustrating at times. Just when you think they don't hear anything you say out comes one of them with a clear answer to your question.. Now that I am medically retired with time to spend, I try to look for others in need and help. I look after my Mother and Mother-in-law, since both my Father and Father-in-law died several years ago. I also spend time with my 18 year old son, trying to help him in this increasingly confused world. We have had several deaths in our family and in the families of friends. How grateful i am for the teachings of Jesus Christ which remove the sting of death for each of us. Many people I know have basically turned off religion in their lives because they can find no sense or continuity and become confused and even disgusted. I know the feeling because I was at the same stage when I read the Book of Mormon and then learned more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Oh how I wish I could shout from the mountain tops to all the world that the Gospel is here in its fullness if they have ears to hear and eyes to see. I want to teach all that I now know. I love Sundays and our Church meetings where we study about Jesus Christ. It refreshes me and regenerates me for the week ahead. If anyone reading this has the desire to know more, please do not hesitate. I invite you to contact me right away. I would love to hear from you.

What blessings can you receive from reading the Book of Mormon, the Bible, and other scriptures?

We live in a world that is increasingly confused. Many do not understand the concept of morals or morality. Denying their existence or not understanding them does not mean they do not exist. God's laws are eternal and they are for the benefit of His children. Though we often cannot understand all in our present state, by reading the scriptures we come to understand the consequences of following our Heavenly Father's Laws and of course the consequences of not following the Eternal Laws. When we follow His Laws we reap untold blessings both in this life and in the eternities BUT if we choose to disobey them we are by default choosing to give up those blessings in this life and in the eternities. To what do you attribute the growth of the Church?

Personally, I think many if not all those who join the church do it because the truth rings loudly in their ears. When I heard the very first lesson, my mind shouted "Yes, yes, finally the truth is here" I knew immediately that what I heard was the truth. Every single question I ever had about life before, life now and life after has been answered by the scriptures; The Book of Mormon, The Holy Bible, The Doctrine & Covenants and the Pearl of Great Price. I invite you to contact the Church and listen carefully and see if your mind doesn't shout for joy at hearing the truth. Anyone at any time is free to contact me and I will clear my schedule to answer their questions. It will be the most important thing you do in your life. I invite any who read this to challenge yourself to learn more about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It will improve your life more than any other pursuit can. Show more Show less
