Hi I'm Gannon

I'm a mountain boy, a Muse fan, and a might coulder, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a full time missionary for the church right now serving in Houston Texas. I love people and getting to know them. I love listening to people talk. I have a great love and trust for most anyone I meet. Even the crazy backwooders of Louisiana. My mission is the greatest honor of my life thus far. I've lived the majority of my life in the mountains of California and love the outdoors. I'm all about workin', serving the LORD, and ridin' motorcycles (mostly just dirtbikes). I have the best parents in the world. They have been amazing examples to me. My dad took time to teach me things growing up, how to problem solve and how to learn. My mother taught me love, self reliance and total selflessness. I love cycling, speaking Spanish, expounding the scriptures, playing monkey in the middle, driving and changing lanes too fast, and singing hymns in public, and wearing skinny jeans. I have a small but growing hat collection. I find that I can stress out a lot but through prayer, the Atonement of Jesus CHRIST, and concentrating on feeling the Spirit I get peace and understanding. I believe knowledge is extremely important, and that we must always strive to obtain it. I may not know a lot, but I am always down for learning something new. I love being around people that know more than me! It's like my dad always says, "If you're the smartest guy in the room, you're in the wrong room.." (I have a thing for quoting my dad).

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a "Mormon" because I am a Christian. CHRIST leads this church and so I follow Him with my all. I discovered the Church through my parents- My mother joined in the seventies and my father joined in 1993. I found that Jesus CHRIST is the only way to peace in this life and salvation in the life to come. And now through study of the holy scriptures, hard hours of prayer, and many manifestations of the Holy Ghost I know that THIS denomination of Christianity is true and complete. I know by that same pattern that the Book of Mormon is factual and helpful! The Book of Mormon is the keystone of this religion. Because the Book of Mormon points me more directly to Jesus CHRIST and to salvation I follow it's teachings and the church espoused to it. I am a Mormon because I understand the importance and reality of an open cannon. I now see that we no longer have to rely solely on the teachings and prophesyings of ancient and foreign prophets to find the truth which leads to life eternal. Our understanding of God's plan of salvation and his requirements to enter back into his kingdom after this life are taught and expounded by men living today--literal modern revelation. They learn it directly from God. God has a close watch and an active hand in the running of His church. I know these things to be true.

How I live my faith

I try my best to serve God. I'm not perfect. I pray, read the Scriptures, and repent. I try to teach people about the truth everyday. I am serving a mission in the Texas Houston East Mission of the church (THEM Elders!!) I try to pray vocally and on my knees, this helps me express my faith and connect with heaven. I make covenants, or promises with God. These covenants are availible to everyone on Earth and are very sacred. The first of which is baptism. The promises I have made with God help to shape my character and help me to be a more Chrsitlike man.
