Hi I'm Eric Phillip Lawrence

I'm a Utah boy. I recently served a mission in San Pedro Sula Hoduras. 1/40% Catracho!

About Me

I am and have always been very interested in traveling the world and studying other people's cultures. I have a love for learning about the world; it's geography, it's people, and it's nature in general. I recently served a mission in Honduras San Pedro Sula which was two of the most important years for my life. I gained a great testimony of this church and my Savior Jesus Christ in those two years. I love all sports but those mostly include extreme sports such as snowboarding, wakeboarding, and hopefully one day skydiving!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because i have gained a testimony of this church through experience, pondering, praying, and living this wonderful gospel. I have always been active in the church even when my family hasn't always been. My family has always supported me in everything as well as wonderful church leaders and friends. I didn't always have a strong testimony but the Lord honestly prepares His children for everything and surely prepared me to come to understand the importance of the gospel in my life and more importantly in the lives of my own family. This is the only church that Jesus Christ personally directs through a living prophet and apostles. It is the only church that has the authority. This is what i learned especially from my mission in Honduras. There are many churches in the world but only one has the authority to bind families for the eternities and to provide all of the blessing the Father has promised to those who are faithful in their endeavors. Jesus Christ lives and loves each one of us. Joseph Smith was called as a prophet to restore the gospel that was lost over thousands of years. I know these things to be true because of personal revelation that exists in these latter days.

How I live my faith

I recently returned from my mission and have been able to see the importance in living according to the standards the Lord has set for us. I know i am able to apply the principles i learned to help my family, my ward, and my community. Prayer, study of the scriptures, and searching for opportunities to serve are ways to strengthen ourselves as well as the lives of others. I feel not only the duty but the desire to strengthen others. I used to feel obligated towards certain duties such as visiting and teaching. Now i want to do it. I feel love towards these people that surround me. How could we be true disciples of Christ without having charity and doing things mechanically? I know we all can be true disciples if we open our hearts and to serve others.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Eric Phillip Lawrence
Why do missionaries proselyte? Well it's duty that we have as members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to share this gospel with the world. This gospel unifies families and brings peaces to the lives of the troubled and afflicted. Why did i proselyte? For these very reasons. To not only help grow my own testimony of the Savior but to help my family as well as those people of Honduras grow their own. This is a work of love not mere obligation! Show more Show less
