Hi I'm Brian

I'm an outdoors enthusiast, I love good music, a history geek, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I really love nature. Anything that's relaxing and outdoors, I'll be there. Backpacking's my favorite, but any old hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, a little skiing, snowshoeing, camping, etc.. I love to get out and be a part of nature, not getting out there to conquer it. I also love learning. I have a passion for history, and plan to go to graduate school for a Ph. D and teach at the university level. I love to travel the world when I can afford it (which isn't too often). I worked as a professional blacksmith for three years. I dream big, a couple of my dreams are to through-hike the Appalachian Trail, and to circumnavigate the globe in my sailboat. I try to make a difference wherever I go, I like to be politically active in whatever way I can be. For a while I was a staff writer for a local underground newspaper. I try to get involved in the community and help out wherever possible.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in this faith, but as I tell everyone, that doesn't mean I always believed it. The reason I stayed with it, is because I prayed, and my prayer was answered. I think biggest block to my personal testimony, is that I know that God loves me, and that he loves you. That's why I decided to serve a mission, because I knew how much God wanted all of his children to feel the same thing I was feeling. That has everything to do with why I serve the way I do, why I work hard, and give it my all, because I know how important it is to the Lord, and that makes it important to me.

How I live my faith

Right now, I'm living my faith in a very visible way, namely, as a missionary, the visible face of the church that you all know, the white shirt and tie, and the black name tag. It's so great! I can't recommend this enough.
