Hi I'm Terry

I'm a husband, father of 6 children, grandfather of 4, softball coach, real estate appraiser, scout leader, and I am a Mormon

About Me

I grew up in Mesa, Arizona and have lived here all of my life except for 2 years that I lived in Argentina when I served a mission for my church. I am the oldest of 7 children. I have 3 brothers and 3 sisters, I love sports and music. I married Cathy who lived about 2 blocks from me most of my life. I had a crush on her since about the 8th grade. We were good friends through high school and we married just after I came home from my mission to Argentina. We have 6 wonderful children and have a joyful life. I have been involved in Scouts for many years. I have been a scout master, cub master, webelos leader, 11 year old scout leader, varsity scout leader, and explorer leader. I have been a little league coach for the past 22 years. I have coached each of my children from t-ball through whenever they quit playing (some earlier than others). I am now coaches my 5 child in fast pitch softball. We have a club team called the AZ lightning. All of my children have been involved in music. They have all been in choirs, and played different instruments from trumpet, saxiphone, clarinet, flute, violyn, harp, oboe and piano. I love listening to their music. I still am very good friends with my wife and love life with her. We will celebrate our 30th anniversity and look forward to many more together. We look forward to eternity together.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunate enough to have grown up as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have a very loving family with a good Father and a loving Mother. I have been taught all my life the teachings of Jesus Christ. I have been taught to love others and look for the good in others. I don't always look for the good in others, however, I have found that when I look for the good in others I always find it. As long as I remember I have had a testimony of the Savior Jesus Christ and the Church of Jesus Chist as the true Church of Christ on the earth. When I was 6 years old I was in a tractor accident on our farm where I was run over by the tractor. I was steering the tractor down the field, raking the alfalfa. My Father was behind the rakes trying to fix them as we went. I got to the end of the field and did not make the turn. The tractor went through the fence and down into a ditch. When the front wheel went into the ditch, I was thrown off and landed on the bank of the ditch. The tractor was turning and the back tire ran over my back. I was rushed to the hospital, unconcience. When I came out of unconcience, I realized that I was hurt badly. The first thing I though of was turning 8 and being baptized. I thought about turning 12 and receiving the priesthood and turning 19 to be able to go on a mission and teach about the restoration of the gospel.

How I live my faith

My faith is about family and I love to do anything with my family as long as we are together. I love to teach others and enjoy seeing progress in others as they accomplish new skills. I have served in the church all my life and find great joy in serving others. I love getting to know others and being able to help others as they need it. I have served for many years in scouting, school parent/techer organizations, Little League as president and many other positions. More than anything, as I stated before, I love to serve and be with my family. I have been councelled in my life that if I am faithful to my Savior Jesus Christ, I will not want. I have found this to be true. especially the happiness that comes with serving others and being faithfull to my Savior.

What is the priesthood?

As a husband, father and a priesthood holder, I have been able to give blessings to my wife and children. I have been involved in miracles while using the priesthood and have been able to feel God's blessing through the priesthood that I am able to exercise. I have been blessed by the oportunities that I have blessing others with the priesthood. The priesthood is always used to bless others. However, I have been blessed with great joy and happiness while using the priesthood to bless other. Show more Show less
