Hi I'm Rod

I'm a husband, father, biotechnology patent attorney and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father of eight, and patent attorney. I specialize in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. I love nature. I am an ornamental plant breeder of iris and day lilies and an exotic bird breeder. I was a wrestler and now an avid spectator. I am an 9/11 New York City survivor. I enjoy running and being with family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found that the principles taught in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints are true and of God. As I live the teachings more fully, I have found that I become a better person, more kind, more patient, more thoughtful and happy. The gospel has been a life changer for me and my family. Through living the gospel we have found greater peace and joy in Jesus Christ than we previously knew existed.

How I live my faith

I seek to live my faith by being honest, kind, admitting when I have done something wrong or offensive, seeking to correct it and asking forgiveness. I try to be a good husband, father, friend, neighbor, and do what Jesus would do. By following this pattern I have seen change in my life and have felt closer to those around me. A greater unity and love among our family, friends and neighbors. At times I have found I don't always naturally want to do what God wants me to do. During these times, I have to humble myself and allow God to lead me. For example, I know God wants me to serve others, but I don't always want to get up early in the morning to help a neighbor move or clean a neighbor's yard. I have found it is not always easy to do the right thing, but my life has always been blessed when I have submitted anyway. My life is filled with hope in a brighter future because of Christ. As I repent and allow Him to guide and direct me, I continue to find greater peace and happiness.
