Hi I'm Nathan

I'm a father of 3. I make medieval armor and weapons for fun. I am an IT Professional and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California. I served as a missionary in the Philippines. I am a father of 3 adorable kids. I'm the husband of a wonderful, beautiful and extremely patient woman. ;-) I support my family by working in Information Technology. I love history and enjoy creatively re-enacting it as a hobby to understand how and why our ancestors lived as they did. I really get a kick out of hammering on metal and creating functional art. I love making armor and then testing it out in full contact stick fighting in the medieval re-enactment group - the Society for Creative Anachronism.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints by two loving and awesome parents. They, like my wife, are extremely patient ... I seem to bring that out in other people. :-D My parents encouraged me to find my own confirmation if what I was taught by them and the Church was true. After a long bumpy road of testing the promises found in the Book of Mormon, I found that my life was immensely more fulfilling and joyful when I was obeying God's commandments than when I was trying to find my own way through the challenges of my life. I have had my prayers answered by the Holy Spirit and I have felt the warm feeling of comfort that the Holt Spirit brings as I have asked to know the truth of the Book of Mormon and of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints. I have come to know my Savior, Jesus Christ, as I have followed His example and His commandments. It is my most prized possession. It helps me to live my life with love for all those I meet and courage in the face of the challenges that are a part of this life.

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending weekly Sunday Services with my family to re-energize us spiritually. I have served as a youth leader and a nursery leader for the children in our Sunday School program. I have also had the opportunity to serve as a voluntary missionary for 2 years in the Philippines Baguio Mission. I like to speak openly about my membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints to help others learn what we believe and this also helps me to "walk my talk" as others help keep me accountable to live the gospel of Jesus Christ that I profess.
