Hi I'm Holly

I'm a Mormon. I grew up in Ogden, Utah. I love soccer. I served a mission in the Philippines. I have 4 children.

About Me

I love soccer. I played soccer as a teenager and just stopped playing competitively 2 years ago due to a bad knee. I am a mom to 4 great kids and I get to watch them play soccer every week. I love to be outside. I run with friends 3 or 4 times a week so I can eat yummy food and not worry about my clothes fitting. I also enjoy cooking and spending time with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because the gospel strengthens my family and brings us joy and peace. I grew up attending church almost every Sunday. My parents did not attend church with me. When I was 13, my Sunday school teacher challenged the whole class to read the Book of Mormon and pray to know of its truthfulness. He said he didn't want us to just trust his word that the things he was teaching us were true but that he wanted us to read and pray and find out for ourselves. I didn't put this challenge to the test until I was 20 years old but I thought about it often over the years. I didn't want to rely on someone else's beliefs. I knew that all truth flows from God and I knew that God answers prayers so I read the Book of Mormon, I considered all that I had learned attending church, and I prayed to know that it was the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I received a strong feeling in my heart that the Book of Mormon is the word of God and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is Christ's Church on the Earth today.

How I live my faith

I am grateful to be raising my children in our community. I serve in our area by working with the children ages 3 to 11 on Sunday. I teach about the gospel of Jesus Christ from the Bible and Book of Mormon. I also serve on the Cub Scout Committee for our Cub Scout Pack in our area. I work with the den leaders and cub master to help the cub scout aged boys in our area earn their ranks and learn new skills in scouting. My own son is about to earn his Eagle Scout award and I am proud of the work he has done to accomplish this task.
