Hi I'm Tom

I'm a multi-generation Arizona native, devoted husband and father of four, a family physician, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in a rural suburb of Phoenix. I am the eldest in a family of nine children. My father was a high school teacher and had many busy positions in the church, and my mother was always busy at church and taking care of us and any other friend that came to live with us. We lived in the same, small ward for most of my youth, so we knew each other pretty well. I attended early morning Seminary while in high school. After class, a large group of us would walk the several blocks from the church to the high school. I learned much of the teachings of Jesus Christ, and gained a testimony of Him and His atonement for us. I used this knowledge and testimony while on my mission for the church. I still live in Arizona and love it. I am currently a practicing physician in Surprise. I am married and have four children who keep us busy. They are involved in their seminary and institute classes and also very active in school sports, music and government. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Why I am a Mormon

I started out being a Mormon, just because that's what my family was. I have many ancestors that were some of the earlier members and pioneers of the Church. I was taught stories of their faith and examples and feel a connection with them. These examples and the continued gospel teaching by loving parents and teachers have helped to build my testimony of the Church. I have taken the challenge of both James of the New Testament and of Moroni in the Book of Mormon, and have read the scriptures and have ask of God regarding them. And I have received a witnesses of the truthfulness of this, the Lord's church. And I know from similar means, that the Lord Himself has restored His gospel to the world in these days, so that we can participate in all of the saving ordinances that we need, to live with Him and our Heavenly Father and our Earthly Families forever in the eternities. And I know that the Lord's church is lead by him, through his prophet today, like he has throughout all of the dispensations of time. How blessed are we, to be able to have a living prophet today, to help us know what the Lord Jesus Christ would have us do.

How I live my faith

Like members of every faith, the members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (the Mormons) or not perfect. Luckily, the gospel is! I try to live my life in the footsteps of the Savior. Often I fall short. I try to live as an example to my children and to those around me. Most people who know me are aware that I am a Mormon, and they ask me about my beliefs. I do not profess to be perfect, and know that I am far from it. However I know that if I keep improving, following the Lord's commandments and continue to repent of my sins, then I may take part in that infinite Atonement and have those sins washed away, as if they were never there.
