Hi I'm Ruth

I am from Mexico on an educational adventure in another country. I am a mother, a wife, I am a daughter of God. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a young mother, wife and a woman. The most important thing I do is to care and teach my children about life and about Heavenly Father. I think that the greatest joy I have is when my children accomplished something or discover something new, it is amazing to see that light in their eyes, or that smile that tells me that they are amazed by the new discovery. I am a woman that has many plans for her life and her family. I love education and I want to keep studying for the rest of my life. I believe that all things are possible and that we have a divine potential, that is the reason we can accomplished any task. I do believe that the family is divine and ordain of God. A family is not an obstacle but rather the reason and the inspiration to fulfill our dreams.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that Jesus Christ is my Savior lives and this is His church. My parents are Mormons and I was born, people can say being a Mormon, but at the age of 15, I wanted to know the truth for myself. Since the Book of Mormon is the keystone of our religion, if it was true then the church was true but if it was not then everything else was false. I read the Book of Mormon for a couple of weeks without having an answer, then one day while reading it, I felt the answer; the Spirit told me that I already knew it was true. It was a warm, peaceful yet strong and unforgettable feeling. It was wonderful to feel that God really loves us and is interested in all of our questions. God answers our prayers. I know the Book of Mormon is from God, and I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet. I know all of these with all my heart, for I know that God answered my humble prayer. I love this gospel, it brings happiness and peace in my life and gives me hope for the future. Being a Mormon truly exemplifies Christ admonition in John 14:27 " Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

How I live my faith

Small acts contribute to greater ones. I love to share with others my friendship. I am currently serving in the women organization where I live and I love to talk to other women, learn from them about their faith, their strengths, their hopes. We learn together how to become the best women, mothers and wives we can become. I help organize activities for these women where they can learn new skills like cooking, sewing, crocheting, computer skills, alphabetization, community resources. Also, we have activities where we can get to meet other women and become friends, we organize our efforts when one of the sisters member of our church or not needs help, from a ride, translate, food, help with the children, a pregnancy or a new born baby. I love to reach to others, helping in any way I can. I love to do volunteer work in my community with foster kids. It is amazing to see how a kind word, a smile, or paying attention to them helps them understand little by little that they are special and of great worth. I believe in living by doing what Christ would want us to do and we can all start by doing small acts of kindness.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Ruth
First of all, don't be afraid, they are the most nice and kind people you will ever meet in your life. They will want to get to know you, and will want to help you with any questions you may have. They will share a message about Jesus Christ and His Atonement (sacrifice). They will share about God's plan for all His children which has the answers to our questions of where do we come from, why are we here and where do we go after we die. Show more Show less

What are some things that tell you there is a God?

Ruth
Everything around me tells me there is God. The earth, the seas, the sky, the flowers and trees, all the different animals, a wrinkle old man or a new born baby tells me that there is a God in heaven that created all that we have. There is greatness in simplicity if we would only stop and see, we will find God everywhere. Show more Show less
