Hi I'm Sheila

I love to fish and gather with good friends for potluck dinners. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a widowed mother with a 19 year old son. He is funny, smart, unique, kind, a hard worker and interesting. I am proud of him and I love him. My life is busy but I am happy and content at my core. I love to read, fish, cook and gather with good friends. My son and I live on the inlet of a lake. We like to sit on the dock, feeding the ducks, fishing, swimming and boating (the canoe and raft are our favorites). We have our struggles and challenges just like everybody else, but every day I count my blessings and thank God for what is good in my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I have enjoyed other spiritual practices but being a Mormon is a good 'fit' for me. In my experience, as a new member, people of this faith are very loving, kind, responsible, fun and really do try to follow spiritual principles as well as continually learn more about how to be a charitable, good person. I like this about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. My son and I have been happier and more at peace since being baptised in this faith. It was hard to loose my husband and for my son to loose his father. We have both found more peace, calm, resolution and understanding since becoming Mormons. In my experience, this church offers different things for different people but all people are welcomed with warmth and love. I like that, alot. And this is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

My son and I go to church on Sunday and have bible study during the week. What I love most is the sacrament and the inspiring messages shared by members of the church. The class on Gospel Principles is instrumental to me in gaining a deeper knowledge of Christ's word and in helping me lead a happier life. I can rely on God and my church community to help me live a good life on a daily basis through prayer and the principles of the church.
