Hi I'm Robin

I grew up in the Bay Area and now live in Arizona. My husband and I have 5 boys and I teach piano lessons. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right after graduating from high school in Walnut Creek, CA, I headed to BYU. After several semesters at BYU, I happily discovered the field of Humanities. I lived in Spain for one semester through the study abroad program, where I learned to love history and the arts. I love to read, play the piano and attend the performing arts, as well as visit art galleries and museums. I spend most of my time as a mom to my 5 boys and 1 daughter-in-law, but I also work part time as a legal assistant and teach piano lessons. My husband will finish law school this spring and embark on his new career. I hope to continue my education and teach Humanities and Art History at the secondary education level.

Why I am a Mormon

I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I have been blessed to have the comfort of His Gospel all of my life. I am so grateful to know that He cares about me and my family and that He has provided the way for us to be together forever. Through all of the trials and hardships in our lives, we have been able to lean on Him for strength, hope, and peace. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that it is a second witness of Jesus Christ. The principles and teachings found in the Book of Mormon help me feel closer to my Father in Heaven and in His son, Jesus Christ. I know that Joseph Smith saw Heavenly Father and Jesus and that through him they established the Church in our day. I know that he became the prophet to bring the Gospel back to the earth. I am so thankful that Heavenly Father communicates with us individually as well as through our prophet, Thomas S. Monson and the modern-day apostles. They are such good, humble men with solid, sound counsel that is exactly what we need to find peace, love and happiness in our daily lives. Their love and encouragement is exemplary of the Savior's forgiving nature. I always feel uplifted, forgiven and encouraged after listening to them teach.

How I live my faith

Our church provides many opportunities for us to practice our faith through service. Currently I play the piano for the children's singing time as well as for the adult choir. Being with the children can be very spiritual as well as comical and entertaining. The children are so teachable and sensitive to the Spirit. Playing for the adult choir has increased my reliance on the Lord as I have brought what I have to offer and He has filled in the gigantic gaps as I attempt to assist the choir in bringing the Spirit to our meetings. I also check in on 3 women monthly to see how they and their families are doing. I have been blessed with priceless friendships as a result of this opportunity. I have found that any service given is returned in immeasurable amounts. My blessings far outweigh the small amount of service I have given.
