Hi I'm Amanda Donofrio

I'm a student, an optimist, and a hyper, friendly person all around. I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a very outgoing and optimistic college student. I love surrounding myself with wonderful people. I love my friends and family. I have a passion for human biology and medicine. I also enjoy the outdoors, movies and being like kid somedays. I am a convert to the church, and was baptized in July 2011. I am the first member in my family. I love being apart of the church, and I love my life. I am thankful for my life experiences that led me down the path to my Heavenly Father. I am blessed and thankful for the gospel in my life, and will now always treasure it.

Why I am a Mormon

I faced many adversities in my life. My family consists of Roman Catholics, but no one truly practices the religion. I grew up in a home with no true gospel or faith. I grew up not caring about religion, and eventually I grew to hate it and condemn those who did have faith. I honestly thought it was stupid, and that there was no logical way God existed. And if he did exist I viewed him as a dictator or tyrant. But after many wrong decisions, and painful experiences in my life it seemed I was missing something. I had no idea what I was missing, or what I was searching for. One day, my friend and I were talking about all the bad things that had happened in my life recently at the time. My dear friend responded to all of this with a simple phrase, "Amanda, I think you need to go to church." I cried, and I realized then what I was searching for. I needed faith... I needed hope. Instead of going to just any church I had a strong pull towards looking into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. So, I asked a good friend of mine who is Mormon to get ahold of the missionaries in my area for me. I wanted to talk to them. Just as I had requested I soon received a phone call from Elder Erb and Elder Simpson. We set up an appointment to meet, and the day came when I first met the missionaries. I was ecstatic at just the sight of them! I was ready to learn. After some lessons, a new pair of missionaries came; Sister Brown and Sister Stromberg, and bonding with my wonderful teacher missionaries I knew I was ready for baptizism. I knew without a doubt in my heart that I was where I was supposed to be. I finally knew Heavenly Father exists and the restored gospel was true. Now, I am a Mormon, and more happy than I have ever been in my life.

How I live my faith

I live every day in Christ's example. I follow the commandments of my Heavenly Father. Following the commandments enriches my life and gives me happiness. I receive many blessings from living the commandments. My testimony only grows stronger everyday as I strive to do my best, and be a good disciple of Christ so I may live eternally with my Heavenly Father once again.
