Hi I'm Eliza

I am a California native. I am a mother to a cute baby girl. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Orange County, California with three brothers and one sister. I started ballet when I was five and did it for ten years, adding tap, jazz, and modern along the way. Dancing was a lot of fun for me and I eventually had to quit because school became so demanding. It was a great activity while I grew up though. I sang in choirs at my high school and I got to travel to Las Vegas, San Francisco, and New York for choir festivals. I love to read, and some of my favorite writers are Jane Austen, Oscar Wilde, George Herbert, and I am a proud Harry Potter fan. I majored in English at BYU where I started dating my husband. We have been married for five years and have a beautiful baby girl.

Why I am a Mormon

I came to know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true through a very natural process. I attended church with my family, I read the Bible and the Book of Mormon for my own personal study, and I prayed to my Heavenly Father consistently. Doing these things brought great happiness into my life, and when I heard others say that this church is true, I felt the Holy Ghost confirm that message to me. I have had many experiences where I said a prayer and knew that my Heavenly Father was listening and that He cared about me. I have prayed for comfort to come when I am going through hard times and it always does. Our Savior died for us so we can turn to Him for help. I’m a Mormon because living the standards of the Church is the only way to find true and eternal happiness in life.

How I live my faith

I work with the children in our ward as the music leader. We sing songs about Jesus Christ and making good choices. One of my favorite children's songs is called "Love is Spoken Here." It is about having a loving home and what children see as they watch their parents live the Gospel. I am a new mom and this song is a great reminder to me that I need to be a good example for my daughter. I continue to do the things I knew that helped me to know that the Church is true: I pray, read my scriptures, go to church every Sunday, keep the commandments of God, and try to live worthy of having the Spirit guide me to do what God and Jesus Christ want me to do.
