Hi I'm Ave Tauvao

I was born in Florida; grew up in Hawaii. I like Metal Rock and Halloween ROCKS!!! I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm your average middle class American Mom of twin boys. I'm the 2nd oldest of 4 children and I'm happily married. I work at a high school where I started a Polynesian Club. I love to sing, dance and absolutely LOVE to rollerskate. I haven't finished college, but I will be able to go back and finish in a couple of years. I love to make people happy and I'm good at it :). You can never have too many friends.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was younger, my parents were Catholic and very active. My mom taught Sunday school and my dad was an Usher. They divorced when I was 7 years old. One day, my mom met the Mormon Missionaries and really felt that what they taught her was true and then was baptized into the Mormon faith. As I grew up I was going back and forth between parents. After awhile, I was able to make my own decision on what religion I wanted to be a part of and the rest was history. Being a member of the Mormon faith is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I know I'm a much happier person because of the true teachings of the gospel. It makes COMPLETE sense to me in every way. The best way I can describe it???? I use to have a hamburger, but now I'm having steak and lobster. No one can really describe it to you. You won't know how it tastes unless you try it.

How I live my faith

I'm very active in my church. One important thing about being Mormon is that you just don't go to church on Sunday...you actually live the gospel standards and commandments in your everyday life. It's like going to church is your training grounds and every other day of the week is the battle where you put your skills to action. I've learned a lot about myself living this way. I'm a lot more patient with others and I pray A LOT!!! I'm currently the Activity Girls Coordinator in church. What it is is every other Tuesday evening I help girls from ages 8-11 reach specific goals and learn a few skills to help them when they become teens. I've had a lot of callings in the church. I've been a Nursery Leader, a Cub Scout Den mom, Relief Society 1st counselor and music chorister, Young Women's 2nd Counselor, and Primary 2nd counselor. I've learned so much about the gospel through these callings and they all have blessed my life in many ways. I'm so thankful for my membership of the Mormon church. I'm not a rich woman, but the happiness I have everyday of my life is priceless. I don't look at what I could have because I have everything I need by just being a Mormon.
