Hi I'm Kris

I am a mother, a reader, a runner, and a teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the mother of five kids who loves being their biggest fan. My days are filled with basketball and soccer games, dance and cello lessons, and lots of cheering! I am an avid (and speedy) reader, love "Anne of Green Gables and National Geographic magazine. I thrive on a good challenge, from crossword puzzles to running a 10K to learning to play the cello.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a Mormon family and raised with its teachings. As I grew, I could see the "fruits of the Spirit" evident in the way Mormon people treated their families, each other, and those around them. I could see how living the gospel blessed their lives and I knew I wanted those fruits in my life too. As I live the gospel, I am continually given additional peace, knowledge, and direction that tells me I am on the right path.

How I live my faith

For many years, I worked at a school teaching journalism classes. Currently, I am able to use that knowledge with the young men and women of our church who are preparing to serve as missionaries. There are some who struggle with reading, speaking, and study skills and I serve as a tutor for them to give them tools they can use throughout their mission and life to improve these abilities. I have the utmost admiration for these young people and their great courage and faith. They know that God will help them. It is my privilege to be a small part of that help.
