Hi I'm Jim

I'm a descendant of William Tyndale's family, I'm a Texan, a fan of the Spurs, and I'm a Mormon.BR

About Me

I am a father of three boys and three girls and the loving husband of my sweet wife for more than thirty years. I am now a grandfather of four grandchildren including two twins and almost an empty nester. I've been in TV, Radio, and Advertising most of my life but my great love for genealogy has recently turned into a full-time job. Helping people discover their heritage and family history is a great blessing and I enjoy it immensely. I love solving puzzels and mysteries. Helping my clients find answers and finding the pieces that go together to solve their quest for answers is something I have a real talent for doing. My other interests besides genealogy is following conservative talk radio, college football, and occassionally I get the chance to hit a golf ball. I grew up on the West Coast and the Mountain West. My family were converts to the church when I was young and so I have been in two churches in my lifetime, the Methodist and LDS. My father was a Director for the Bureau of Land Management and took us on camping trips to some of the most beautiful areas of the North Western United States that you can imagine. Pristine lakes among the beautiful mountain sides. From this experience I learned to appreciate God's creations and marvel at his handiwork not only on earth but throughout our expansive universe. "How Great Thou Art" is one of my favorite hymns and always reminds me of the time camping with my family in the great beauty of God's wonderful creations.

Why I am a Mormon

My first memories were of being in church with my family and my life has been spent staying close to God and my Saviour Jesus Christ. I have such a strong and fervent testimony of the truthfulness of this church and His great work. The gospel is true and Jesus Christ is the Saviour of all mankind. I know that to be true and appreciate the great love and atoning sacrifice that Jesus gave for us all. I am a member of this church because it is the only true church on the face of the earth. I can't imagine being anywhere else but in this faith. The witness that has come to me over the years is undeniable. This truly is the church of Jesus Christ and he leads us and guides us today. It has been a marvelous experience to be a member of this church and I know that this loving relationship we have with our Lord and our Father in Heaven will continue to grow and manifest itself throughout all eternity with our families together forever. Read the testimony of the 12 witnesses of "The Book of Mormon, Another Testament of Jesus Christ" then read the entire book with a desire to know the will of God in your own life regarding this church and you will come to know the truthfulness found in this church and marvelous work in these last days. I testify of that, and I testify that Jesus is the Christ, the Messiah, and the Son of God. He lives, and he will come again very soon, This is His church. Our leaders are inspired men of God, called in these latter days to help guide us just as the Lord's servants were some 2000 years ago. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God, The Book of Mormon is true, God lives and hears and answers our prayers. God is our loving Father in Heaven. He loved us so much that he sent his only-begotten son, Jesus Christ, to save us from death and sin. I know that to be true with all my heart and so testify in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

How I live my faith

I have served in the church and community in various and numerous opportunities of service. I love to serve my fellow man in whatever capacity of responsibility to Lord sees fit to call me to do. My mission for two years when I was 19 was to serve the people of Agentina in the Cordoba Argentina Mission. I love the people of Argentina and Chile, they are wonderful children of God. While there, I had the opportunity to serve as a Branch President, (leader of a very small congregation of 50 members or so) and helped the members to grow and strengthen in the gospel so that now, many years later this small congregation has devloped into a very large gathering of saints and better citizens in the area. Growing the church and helping the members be better men and women of the community is something I do each week as I serve in the church. I have been responsible for the welfare both temporally and spiritually of more than 600 members in my congregation where I live. I have enjoyed many years of working with my brothers and sisters of other faiths by serving on the Executive Board of Directors for the interfaith organization known as the San Antonio Community of Churches. This interaction with members of other Christian faiths as well as local Jewish congregations has increased my love for my fellow man no matter what religion they practice. One of my favorite experiences in my church has been giving community service with the LDS Helping Hands opportunities when natural disasters strike in the area, including recent flash flooding and Hurricane Ike relief efforts. What a marvelous experience it has been helping those who couldn't have done it themselves. Christ like service in sharing our strength to do charitable work has been a hallmark of this church and it's members. We do what the Saviour would want us to do in serving God's children. I love it!
