Hi I'm Teri

I am married, raised 7 kids and I am the grandmother of 16. I wear a hat of many trades, and I'm very talented. I'm a Mormon. ; )

About Me

I'm 50 years old and a full time wife, mother and grandmother. I have traveled the world with my husband holding up the rear, so that he was always ready for action. I home-schooled my kids and I love studying. Right now I am taking a course in herbology, and I love gardening. I enjoy music, drawing & painting. I love very long drives and my family teases me that I could have been a trucker. I attend a LDS 12 step program for over eating, and I am thankful for my addition as it brought me to this point of knowing how the tender mercy of the Atonement can set me and anyone else free from the shackles of any additions. I have a very deep love for the Savior and all that he has done for me.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized at the age of 8, but my family didn't practice the gospel teaching. I eventually went the ways of the world. My conversion story didn't happen until I was 24 years old. It was a very dark time of my life and I was all alone and lacking. A friend of mine gave me a challenge to go to the Lord in pray with questions that I had and challenged me to read The Book of Mormon with my questions in mind. I was challenge to do this for a week. I finally did after another hard blow. I dropped to my knees and I started out very angry and poured out my heart. At the end of my pray my heavy heart was lighter and as I pondered on how I felt better, I then felt an amazing feeling come over me that seemed to say, "It's OK little one; I was once there too." For the first time in my life I felt this was true. I wasn't alone anymore. As I open my scriptures and pray, I feel him very close to me. I notice that when I don't do this, I create a gap between us. And when I return he is always right there. I am his little one and so are you. He will answer your prayers! No matter where you are or what you've done, He was once there too!!

How I live my faith

My husband and I are very happy Sunday School teachers to our 12-14 year old! We have the best class and love each one of them!! I am a visiting teacher and its a wonderful experience to serve each one of them. I learn so much from them and it always make my down days better. I serve my family and friends the best way that I can. I try to keep my eyes open in our community for opportunities to serve where I can. I love to share what I have learned if it can help someone else.

Why was a Restoration of the Gospel needed? Haven’t we always had the Bible?

Teri
Our Heavenly Father knew that the Holy Bible would be rewritten and books removed, so He in his infinite wisdom created a way that his words would still be available to us today. The Book of Mormon together with The Holy Bible and a modern prophet (like Moses of old) makes everything so very clear. He never left us alone!! Show more Show less
