Hi I'm Dallin Droubay

I'm a Musician. I love to learn. I love Ukraine. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love art the Russian language. I love playing to guitar and writing my own music. I love performing and making people laugh. I love the connection you feel with other people when you play or listen to good music, see a good movie, or create something together. I love learning new things. There's nothing quite like applying new knowledge that you gain. I'm currently serving a mission for the church in the beautiful country of Ukraine. I love the culture and people here. After my mission I'm planning on studying at Utah State University. I hope to go into teaching, as well as study Psychology and Religion.

Why I am a Mormon

I don't know exactly when I knew the church was true. I just always have. I was born into the church, to two lovely parents, and they taught me the gospel. This doesn't mean that I haven't had questions, or that I didn't search out to know the truth for myself. But that's the thing. It's really easy to believe in the truth. I think my testimony has grown line upon line throughout my life, and the times I've asked questions, and searched for answers, have been the times where my faith has grown. I've gained the knowledge of the truthfulness of this church through years of study, prayer, and faith.

How I live my faith

I am currently serving a mission for the church. This involves volunteering to leave school, jobs, and any other obligations for two years to teach others about the gospel. I know that this church is true; it has blessed my life more than I can describe in words on a website. I feel obligated to share the message of the restored gospel, because of how happy it has made me. I am serving a mission because if I can give any person the same happiness I have, then I will feel overjoyed.

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Dallin Droubay
Yes. And it's an absolutly wonderful fact. God has always called prophets. From the days of Adam, and Noah, to the days of Abraham and Moses, we have always had a prophet. The logic behind why we need them is obvious. Who wouldn't we want a mouthpiece for God on the earth? The beautiful message we share to the world, is that God called a prophet in our day. His name was Joseph Smith, and through him God's church was back on the earth once again. God has promiced us that he will continue to give us prophets, and this chain will not be broken. This meaning, that we still have a prophet on the earth today! His name is Thomas S. Monson. You can listen to the words of living prophets to learn just how following God's will can change your life! Show more Show less

Why is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints called Mormons or Mormonism?

Dallin Droubay
The name "Mormons" or the term "Mormonism" is a nickname given to us by others because we believe in a set of scripture called "The Book of Mormon." This book is another testimant of Jesus Christ, and is a beautiful tool to help us learn the truth of our message. Since nearly all Christian faiths believe in the Bible, and are all united by it, God knew it would be difficult for us to know exactly which church was true. He prepared The Book of Mormon as an evidence of our Church's truthfullness. Since it was translated through the Prophet Joseph Smith, when we pray and gain a testimony of the Book of Mormon, we will therefore gain a testimony of the truthfulness of the church, since no other church uses The Book of Mormon as scripture. So the name "Mormons" is given because we believe in The Book of Mormon. Show more Show less
